This episode was scripted to be on Christmas Eve in Washington, DC. Near the end of the episode, Tobey, Mrs. Landingham, and George Huffnagle arrive at Arlington National Cemetery. The grass in green and the deciduous trees all have green leaves, not consistent with the winter timing of the episode.
At the beginning of the episode, Toby Ziegler is called to the Korean War Memorial about his business card having been found in a dead man's pocket. In the shots of the Mall, the Washington Monument is surrounded by scaffolding that was in place during 1999-2000 for renovation. But in a later shot showing the White House at night, the Monument in the background suddenly has no scaffolding.
When speaking with Toby, the position of Miss Landinghams necklace changes from shot to shot.
C.J. is very surprised to learn her Secret Service code name is "Flamingo". This is understandable since they use a generic name for White House Press Secretary (Matrix).
Mrs Landingham told Charlie that her twin sons had died in Vietnam on December 24, 1970. Being the only children in the family they both could have been drafted at the same time but not sent to a combat zone together. One would have been kept in a non-combat status and stationed either in the US or in a non-combat area to ensure that the family wouldn't risk losing both sons. This is a result of the 5 Sullivan brothers lost together when their ship was sunk during World War II.
The homeless decedent was described as a Korean War veteran who was a Lance Corporal in the Marines.
There were no Marine Lance Corporals during the Korean War because the rank of Lance Corporal, established during the 1830s, ceased to be used prior to World War Two.
The rank of Lance Corporal did not come back into use until the sweeping Marine Corps rank restructuring of 1958, which is when the Crossed Rifles Device, which indicated a Marine was a Lance Corporal rather than a Private First Class, was added to Marine enlisted insignia.

Dolores Landingham, the President's secretary, mentions that her twin sons had a low draft number in the lottery. Her sons died in Vietnam on December 24, 1970. The first lottery drawing was held December 1, 1969; with a low lottery number, they would easily be in the field by December 1970.
While Josh gives Donna her Christmas present, Josh is wearing the belt pack for a wireless microphone. The pack can be seen in the middle of his back clipped to his belt. It has an antenna on the left side and a wire on the right extending towards his right arm. When seen from the front, Josh is wearing his beeper on the front of his belt on his right side.
