In the last scene, Kate Harper says that a nuclear power plant in California might "blow up." Nuclear generating stations cannot explode like a bomb. The fuel is nowhere close to being enriched enough. They can vent radioactive steam or water, however.
Danny implies that the president should have the power to do just about anything because he no longer has to run for re-election. In fact presidents typically have the most difficulty achieving accomplishments in the last year of their second term as a result of a lack of political capital and being seen as a lame duck. As a political reporter, Danny should have known this.
When C.J. is discussing the Darfur Genocide she refers to Sudan as "The Sudan" several times. Someone with C.J.'s knowledge of geopolitics would not make the mistake of calling Sudan "The Sudan," particularly since she is well-informed about Darfur. Calling Sudan "The Sudan" would be like calling Russia, Egypt, or Canada "The Russia," "The Egypt," or "The Canada" respectively; someone in C.J.'s position would not do this.
