Toby tells C.J. there's an old saying: "Quando dio vuole castigarci, ci manda quello che desideriamo" (When the gods wish to punish us they answer our prayers.)" The quote is not an Italian proverb but a quote from Irish novelist Oscar Wilde in his 1893 book An Ideal Husband.
While flying to the Iowa Caucus, C.J. talks about her plans to see the Butter Cow and other butter sculptures. The Caucus is held in late January or February, the butter sculptures are created as part of the Iowa State Fair, which occurs in August, and are dismantled after the fair. But CJ may not know that.
When departing Andrews Air Force Base for Iowa, the pilot states they would be cruising at 41,000 feet. Per FAA regulations, all westbound IFR flights cruise at even thousands of altitude while eastbound flights cruise at odd thousands of altitude to maintain separation between aircraft. A flight from Andrews to Iowa could cruise at 40,000 feet, not 41,000 feet.
A key plot point centers around a pending referendum in Pennsylvania on Affirmative Action. Pennsylvania does not have a referendum process.
While talking to CJ on Air Force One, Toby pours himself a cup of coffee. However the coffee pot is obviously empty, as is the cup. This is the second stage of Toby's search for coffee. The pot in the conference room is empty. He walks to the galley while talking to CJ, and rolls his eyes when the pot is empty. While walking to the cabin phone, Toby stops a steward with a coffee pot and the steward fills his cup.
While aboard Air Force One, Toby receives a call from Sam, who, based on departure time, direction, and airspeed, guesses that Toby is over Cumberland, West Virginia. There is no such place; Sam seems to combine Cumberland, Maryland, and New Cumberland, West Virginia. Based on the waypoints named in the pilot's announcement and Sam's statement of the track of Air Force One while departing from Andrews Air Force Base en route to Iowa, the flight could easily pass over or near either or both of those cities.
Josh refers to "Bacardi 451", confusing the name of the rum, "Bacardi 151", with the Ray Bradbury novel "Fahrenheit 451".
