Chris Klug is the first of many celebrities to play themselves on this series, a Scooby-Doo tradition which started in The New Scooby-Doo Movies (1972).
The song Frosty the Snowman is quoted twice Shaggy. When Shaggy sees the Snow Creature, he says that it's not a 'Jolly Happy Soul' and later taunts the monster saying he has his 'corncob pipe and button nose.'
This is the first time since I Left My Neck in San Francisco (1979) that a member of Mystery Inc. is unable to participate due to being sick. In addition, it's also the first time two members have been taken out during a case; this time one is injured.
