One way or another

Ginger Rogers, a former movie co-star of producer Dick Powell stars in this Zane Grey Theater story about a female ranch owner with a rebellious teen on her hands. Coincidentally enough Ginger's character is named Cartwright, but unlike those Bonanza Cartwrights Ginger only has one daughter on her hands played by Melinda Byron.

Ever since her husband deserted her Ginger runs the ranch with an iron hand and brings her daughter up the same way. Besides her daughter her other problems come from a pair of brothers played Roy Barcroft and Alan Reed Jr. Reed in fact is romancing Byron while he and his brother are trying to acquire a section of land adjoining Rogers's property one way or another.

Her savior turns out to be Richard Eastham a retired gunfighter although Ginger doesn't relish being in debt to him.

The part is one that Barbara Stanwyck could do by rote. Rogers did not do too many westerns in her big screen career. She does fine though in this Zane Grey Theater story.
