Fun indeed

Funhouse is a complex, existential treatise on the human cond--, nah, it's about the Joes in a Funhouse.

Like the entire Sunbow series, there's little here that resembles reality, but ain't that the reason we watch it? We want colorful villains, upright heroes and lots of action, and Funhouse--and G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero--delivers in spades.

Dungeon Crawling Joes
hellraiser711 January 2023
This is one of my favorite episodes of the show, it's basically another story for the "Most Dangerous Game" genre. It's really nothing new and it's a tad predictable but what do you expect in these kinds of stories, but it's everything done right. I love the fact that it's a maze the Joe's have to run, in a way this could almost be "G. I. Joe" doing "Dungeons and Dragons" as that tabletop RPG is know for it's Dungeon crawling challenges. But unfortunately, the Dungeon Master is Cobra Commander so you already know this game will be anything but friendly.

I really like how suspenseful it truly is; we see that the Joes are split up into three pairs, three teams and each are taking a different pathway. At first it seems like their doing alright, like my favorite duo Flint and Lady Jaye are kicking ass on the bunch of Cobra Commander androids (narcissistic much) they fight, which isn't that hard as that bunch of androids really suck. Their a little foreshadowing on the B. A. T. S. (Battle Android Troopers) we get latter in the show.

But since the bad guys have the advantage, it means that the odds are against the Joes and as we see in Slasher movie fashion the Joes go down one by one. One scene where we see Dusty breath in some hallucinogenic gas, I'll admit it was creepy as we see him have let's just say a nasty trip. Even Flint and Lady Jaye are struggling as we see despite how weak the androids are their strong by their numbers game which is unfortunately adding up too fast.

It soon comes down to the last Joe, will this Joe get though the maze and win the deadly game, you'll just have to wait and see.

Rating: 4 stars.
