"The Fight" opens with Washington upset that Barbarino failed to do his English homework after Epstein asked him to. Today's class deals with prized possessions, with Vinnie getting out his little black book, and its grading system ('X' is for Dolores Delvecchio!). Epstein's cherished dinghy, made by gluing toothpicks for 12 weeks, has a calamitous meeting with Horshack's posterior, after which all four Sweathogs reveal their own failings in front of the entire class. It's a treat to see them do impressions of each other, capped by Kotter's observation that they look like a 'delinquent Mount Rushmore.' Woodman sees all the Sweathogs sitting together in total silence, and compliments Gabe: "now that's teaching, Kotter!" At home the Kotters argue over Julie's famous tuna casserole and Gabe's 'stupid jokes,' with poor Vinnie getting caught in the middle for dessert!
