Marge buys a new suit and meets an old acquaintance who tempts her with a country club membership.
This is a decent parody of social climbing, but feels distinctly out of character for Marge.
The writers give Marge and the family solid arc to go through in this story and satirise the type of elitist people who inhabit these types of places. I think one of the best parts is how useless and superficial they depict some of these kept wives to be.
Homer's subplot involving the Golf is pretty good and Mr Burns is nicely portrayed as incompetent with his over reliance on Smithers.
Overall the episode did not feel suited to Marge's character and even though you shouldn't take an animated comedy that seriously it feels wrong and contrived for it to be her. Perhaps it would have worked better if it was another character.
It's a 7.5/10 for me but I round upwards.
