Lillian Carlson : You know, I think I'll just buzz the booth and tell Mr. Fever he's still got a job.
Jennifer Marlowe : Oh, that's nice, but do you think you ought to do it right away?
-
Jennifer Marlowe : What's wrong with the heat?
Dr. Johnny Fever : Hi. I think the building's furnace went out last night.
Jennifer Marlowe : I don't like it. Do something.
Dr. Johnny Fever : Well... we could huddle together.
[realizes he hasn't got an inkling of hope]
Dr. Johnny Fever : Or... you could do what I'd been doing,
[bottle of brandy]
Dr. Johnny Fever : you could take the chill off.
Jennifer Marlowe : At eight o'clock in the morning? I don't think so. You know, of course, that liquor is not allowed at the station.
Dr. Johnny Fever : Yeah.
Jennifer Marlowe : And I think it's against FCC regulations.
Dr. Johnny Fever : Yeah, so's freezing to death. Really. Why don't you have some? Sure you don't want it?
Jennifer Marlowe : Well, maybe just a little sip. Not very much, though. These are unusual circumstances.
Dr. Johnny Fever : Yes. You know, Jennifer, I've been thinking, uh... how we could get together for an intimate little drink.
Jennifer Marlowe : Yuck.
Dr. Johnny Fever : I knew somehow I thought you'd say that.
Jennifer Marlowe : I was referring to this.
[his big coffee mug into which he had poured the brandy]
Dr. Johnny Fever : Ah. Thank you.
Jennifer Marlowe : Feels kind of tingly, though.
Dr. Johnny Fever : Tingly?
Jennifer Marlowe : And warm. Down to the toes.
[stretches out her leg, smiling at her fashionably high-heeled foot]
Dr. Johnny Fever : You don't hardly got any shoes on.
Jennifer Marlowe : Why, Johnny, thank you for noticing. I got these at Hartmann's Department Store.
Dr. Johnny Fever : Hartmann's? Where is that?
Jennifer Marlowe : In Dallas.
Dr. Johnny Fever : Oh, yeah. Dallas.
Jennifer Marlowe : You know, I've seen this particular design before in Cincinnati.

Jennifer Marlowe : [bit hung over] Mrs. Carlson, would you like a couple of aspirin?
Lillian Carlson : No, thank you, Jennifer, that won't be necessary.
Jennifer Marlowe : All righty.
[takes them herself]
