yes yes yes!!

Warning: Spoilers
Finally - Lorelai and Christopher wake up together. If only the damn child (Gigi?) would die and the Gilmores would be perfect!

Luke is far too deceptive. He's initially unattractive because he's safe and boring, but now he's added complications, it's eradicated any of the "safe and boring" benefits. So Lorelai's better off going for the bad boy, i.e. Christopher. And for the record... Lorelai is my stripper name :D.

I still pine for Jess, but I'm sure that Logan will provide us with plenty of excitement.

This was a great tie-up for the end of the series: it left you itching for more (in true GG style!) but didn't make you go "What? What happened? I don't understand!"

Typical Gilmore excellence, xx

Better episode than the others.

Great end of season.

Alexis Bledel acted really well, usually is really dull.

Lorelei finally took control of her love life, maybe, too much? She ended up with something that she also didn't wanted... so ultimately, she failed. She should have waited a little longer for things to settle down.

What happened to this series?
elizabethblackwellID10 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I haven't watched it for 20 years and didn't remember the quality drop in Season 6. It's terrible. Annoying characters (Luke's daughter. What is the point of this story arc except to block Luke and Lorelai), the childish squabbling of the grandparents with everyone, Rory being a non-stop entitled brat, Lorelai's endless babbling, Christopher's awful kid, poor Lane's storyline (why would she end up with that lump), Luke and Lorelai's inability to discuss anything.........why can't any of these people behave like adults?

I never realised that Alexis Bledel is not a very good actress. Her range is very limited.

I fast forwarded through nearly all of the April scenes and Paris's meltdown was overwrought and pantomime-ish.

What a mess.

Did ASP do this on purpose?
ISmellSnow14 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
A lot of fans wonder if ASP wrote this terrible storyline on purpose, because she won't be show runner anymore. I don't believe it's true, but it's a convincing argument.

The town troubadours "popularity" has brought others to Stars Hollow hoping to get their big shot. It drives Taylor crazy but it's awesome to see actual musicians in the episode.

Christopher and Lorelai attend Friday night dinner together and find out Emily has set Christopher up on a date. She invites a therapist named Carolyn played by the beautiful Melora Hardin. Christopher is clearly not interested but after dinner, Lorelai approaches Carolyn at her car. They end up having a therapy session and Lorelai asks for advice on what to do with Luke.

Lorelai later arrives at Luke's and gives him an ultimatum. Unfortunately he doesn't tell Lorelai what she wants to hear and you guessed it.. she ends up in bed with Christopher. Grr.

Meanwhile, Rory throws Logan a London-themed party before he leaves. When Logan leaves the next morning it's very emotional, especially the shot of him in the elevator. It makes you feel so sorry for Rory.

Stupid

Warning: Spoilers
It's weird rewatching this series to see how terrible the main characters are. Like they are bad people. The Luke Lorelei wedding bs got so dragged out that it turns into her cheating? Stupid. And Logan has always sucked haha. This show really is bad the second time around.

One of those shows, where the leads ruin their own series...

Warning: Spoilers
You'd have to be pretty blinded, to not see Luke and Lorelai's relationship especially, was doomed. And to think writers wasted almost two seasons to get to that conclusion, and made characters who saw this, out to be the villains of the story, is baffling. Apart from hers and Rory's tedious relationship drama, those last episodes of season 6 were pretty great. Lane's wedding, April's birthday party, Liz and TJ's reconciliation, and the town's troubadours contest, in the season finale. I even enjoyed the dinner at the Gilmore mansion, with Melora Hardin playing a shrink. And her impromptu session with Lorelai. And in case I forgot, the new sets for the whole season, first the way the pool house was arranged for Rory. And now Lorelai's new and improved home arrangements. But unnecessary drama took up once again too much screen time. Like Rory's excruciatingly long goodbye to Logan. Or Lorelai's equally long rant to Luke, which should've been a clear sign, like she loves it so much, that she's not ready to commit. She thought she was, but she only wants to stop stagnating in her love life. So what does she do, when he refuses to indulge in her out of nowhere idea to elope? She sleeps with Chris, whom she never stopped seeing behind Luke's back, the whole time they were together. Wake up people, she was never IN love with Luke. April or no April, Emily meddling or not, or whatever, they had no future together as a couple, because Lorelai only saw him as a « rebound » life partner. Just like adopting Paul Anka, was her way of coping with Rory's absence. She's a mess. And I'm glad rewatching those seasons, proved my first viewing dislike wasn't just an impression. I hate all the Gilmore drama during Rory's college years. And I hope season 7, which I never finished, will at least give good closure to the series.
