There's Gold Somewhere
Hitchcoc25 March 2023
I know the premise here is to show how the two shallowest people on earth treat each other. Steph's birthday comes along and she feels she's ceased blossoming. The discussion gets around to what she will look like when she is old and whether Michael will want her. He runs out of the room like a Class A jerk. The next day she doesn't do the make-up, fix her hair, and wears dumpy clothes. When Michael sees her he runs again. I have to say that I realized how beautiful Julia Duffy is when she was every bit as attractive, or more, in her "frumpy" look, that the porcelain doll she usually portrays. There's a great scene when Larry and the boys come in, and, in their disheveled way make her feel better.

Stephanie fears getting old

It's Stephanie's birthday and she gets depressed because she thinks she is no longer blossoming.

A funny Stephanie episode with good encounters with the other characters. Michael tries to tell her he loves her for not just her looks, but can't. George tries to cheer her up but can only come up with "you get out of work better than anyone else I know". One of the funniest moments shows Stephanie showing up for breakfast in sloppy clothes, mussed hair and no makeup. It finally takes Larry to come up with the right words to get her feeling better.
