Great show
gloria-sapstead8 July 2006
I thought it was brilliant! It was great watching the presenter tracking each one of them down. Dwight Schultz still looked the same, he had hardly changed in looks, neither had Dirk Benedict, he still looked just as dishy! I thought that Mr T looked thinner though, but it was still great to see how he looked after all this time. I thought that it took some doing tracking down the other members of the cast, such as the one who played Decker, and the lady who played Amy. It was just a shame that Mr T could'nt make the actual reunion. Also it was a great shame that George Peppard had died, thereby leaving a gap so to speak. I only wish now that I had taped it to keep. Let's hope that they repeat it again.

Nice Little Reunion Show, Thanks To the JLC Himself
wchngliu25 November 2007
Bring Back The A-team was a hour- long special screened on Channel 4 in the UK of last year and hosted by presenter and comedian Justin Lee Collins, the show attempted to track down and reunite the fellow cast members of the A-Team together, for the first time ever on TV. This has been something which has never been attempted before by anyone. Well, not by anyone that I know of, that is.

Justin makes a great presenter, and his eccentric personality and humorous banter shone throughout this programme. The attempts he makes in getting hold of the cast members is ever so funny, but also he was very persistent and eager to fulfil this task too, which is a credit to him i'd say. Mind you, he is great on TV anyway- be it by presenting a show such as this, or the Friday Night Project with his co-host, Alan Carr.

There were appearances and interviews with Dirk Benedict- the Faceman himself, Dwight Schultz- aka Howling Mad Murdock, Marla Heasley who played Tawnia Baker, Jack Ging aka General 'Bull' Full Bright, the creator of the A-team, Stephen J Cannell and the big man himself, Mr T aka BA Baracus. They were just fascinating to watch and hear what they had to say about the programme that became a global hit during the 80s, as they reminisce and relive the good and bad moments of the show: both during and behind the scenes. Unfortunately, no George Peppard but of course he is already in heaven, understandably and strangely enough no Melinda, who played Amy.

I just didn't understand why she wasn't featured in the show. Okay, she was axed after 3 seasons or whatever, but she was the first and original female member of the A-Team- only to be replaced Marla's Tawnia and so it would've been great to see and hear her side to the A-team story, in addition to the other cast members.

All in all, Bring Back The A-Team was a great documentary style of show. Perhaps, this could've been spread out more by means of which this could've been a six-part documentary. But nonetheless, this was a great effort on the part of JLC. Recommended

Bring Back... The A-Team
jboothmillard6 June 2006
Warning: Spoilers
He did one at Christmas to try and bring back a number one song, and now the terrific Justin Lee Collins wanted to reunite the cast members and maybe some crew of one of his favourite TV shows as a kid, The A-Team. The only member he wouldn't be able to get was the late great George Peppard who played main character Col. John "Hannibal" Smith, but he did get some kind of psychic to try and help. He did manage to reunite all members including Dirk Benedict (Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck #2) who went to Celebrity Big Brother in 2007, Dwight Schultz (Capt. H.M. "Howling Mad" Murdock), Melinda Culea (Amy Amanda Allen), William Lucking (Col. Lynch) and Lance LeGault (Col. Roderick Decker, the only member of the team to die). He did talk to Mr. T (Sgt. Bosco "B.A." Baracus) in an anticipated interview, but he was unavailable to turn up at the reunion. It was really fun watching him trying to find them, and talking to them, even though they probably didn't want to, and the reunion of course is the great climax. Very good!

Bring Back The A-Team
smiley-839 August 2006
Bring Back The A-Team was a show made by channel 4 in the UK in 2005. Presented by Justin Lee Collins he went to Los Angeles for 10 days to track down the remaining members of the A-Team and to reunite them together at a Beverly Hills club bar for a reunion. During the 10 days he found and got to speak to Dwight Schultz(Murdock), Dirk Benedict(Face), Marla Heasley(Tania), Jack Ging(Gen.Fulbright) Stephen J Cannel (Creator/writer) and Mr T(BA). They all gave some great facts on the show mostly about the late George Peppard(Hannibal). At the end of the show they all got together at the Beverly Hills Bar with the exception of Mr T who was too busy to attend. They was also some surprise appearances at the Beverly Hills bar by William Lucking(Col.Lynch), Lance Le Gault(Col.Decker) and George Peppard's son Christian.

Growing up this show was my fav
purotainoman2 September 2009
Due to this show getting cut early I never realized why until I recently read the story behind the series. I felt this show never got its dues as one of the greatest shows, this show is iconic in nature and deserves the movie it was always intended to have if not with the original A team cast at least with the cast incorporated into the story line or a lengthy cameo, perhaps at the end commemorate it to the late Col. Hanibal Smith(Preppard). This cast gave so much to bring happiness to us growing up they deserve one last heave ho the fact that the series ended openly because they slashed the series is reason enough. This crew and cast made us realize as children the essence of being one of the good guys especially seeing how screwed up the world is today, I think a milder version like the original should be put into motion I have already read the previews and I know these are not the plans but if anything a straight to DVD movie, I sure would buy it. I really do not get how crappy shows get series finales but this great show which still runs regularly today and probably gets watched more than some of the current garbage shows of today don't we will always remember the Incredible Hulk series, Knight Rider, Airwolf, and the A team because those kind of shows carry through time, I am almost positive these knew ones you see about detectives will not even be remembered in 10 years so why not bring back something and show the people what staying power is all about and how these old shows really are all about.

Justin Lee Collins brings back The A-Team
safenoe16 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I've been a huge fan of The A-Team when it made its explosive debut in the 1980s and it was a show for the ages. I watched pretty much every episode up to the end of season four. I can't remember watching anything in season five, which was the final season. Anyway, here English celebrity Justin Lee Collins travels here to try to reunite The A-Team, and he does a pretty decent job. Anyway, the persistence of Justin Lee Collins is to be commended, especially when trying to locate Marla Heasley on the streets. A few things, I wish Justin had explained why he didn't try and trace down Melinda Culea, who played Amy, and also why he thought the fourth season was the last, which probably explains why Robert Vaughn and Eddie Velez weren't mentioned.

Anyway, the reunion at the end (unfortunately Mr. T wasn't there) was so emotional.

Bring Back The A Team, a couple of corrections
madthepirate10 August 2006
I saw this documentary and it certainly brought back a few happy memories. However I would like to correct the last comment poster on a couple of points. Melinda Culea, who played Amy Amanda Allan, didn't actually appear in this programme. You are thinking of the lovely Marla Heasley who played Tawnia Baker, she DID take part. Also Colonel Decker as played by Lance LeGault, did NOT die. You are thinking of General "Bull" Fullbright as played by Jack Ging. He also appeared after Justin Lee Collins cornered him on the golf course ! Brilliant series, brilliant documentary. Here's hoping they don't go down the "Starsky and Hutch" road and make a terrible movie which was nothing like the original series. Time to let sleeping heroes lie....

You Must Remember This !
elshikh43 November 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Some feelings push me to write about this little documentary. First of all, it has a case of sheer nostalgia with something was collective, successful, and being loved once, whether you watched the original show or not. To remember after more than 20 years a lovely big memory like that, with the very ones who made it big with you, this is apart a pure gold. So the look in the eyes of the remaining cast at the end was priceless, and just filming it is one of the strongest points here.

The other feeling is so personal. As for instance how (Dwight Schultz) or (Capt. H. M.), and (Dirk Benedict) or (Faceman) are still friends till now. To have a friendship that continued for more than 2 decades is by all means a great thing to witness and to wish for yourself.

Moreover, and despite some things that I didn't like about the film, I quite loved the motive of (Justin Lee Collins) as a kid who wants to reunite with his childhood, and to gather this childhood's heroes together in just 10 days. This small saga to hunt, locate, ambush, interview and invite them to meet each other is highly impressive, let alone being a bold idea at heart. So (Collins) was the biggest hero of it after all.

Though, I hated some of his rude remarks and consecutive swearing. I felt also false impressions sometimes, for instance while meeting (Mr. T) he was trying to maintain amazed in front of the camera for the longest time. Not to mention how his questions weren't what I longed for, as they mainly centered on (George Peppard)'s behaviors. And why did (Collins) have to end the climactic reunion roughly while we almost didn't watch or listen to much of it?

The Odessa of searching with the running cameras was totally fun. Yes, "a nerve racking" like (Benedict) described honestly, but really hot and memorable. (Benedict) himself was so annoyed at first: "wrong guy", "you're a long way from home, you must be lost", but observe well, after (Collins) said (The A-Team), (Benedict) remembered, hankered, and ran soft, to talk elaborately and fondly. Or (Schultz) while he was recording his voice, the moment of capturing him is so amusing, he was so surprised: "You gotta be kidding me!"; that was rare moment for me to hear his natural voice, and right after (Collins) mentioned the magical title, (Schultz) fell for it immediately, he even didn't let the moment without imitating (Mr. T) wittily.

The reunion at the end was so warm and emotional. See how (Schultz) looked at (Peppard)'s son so teary and hugged him fatherly in very passionate way. Or how they met the creator (Stephen J. Cannell). Or how (Mr. T) didn't show up like most of the rest expected (maybe he turned into another Peppard?!).

It uncovers some facts that surely made me reconsider a lot of things on the top of them is the way I will look at (George Peppard) again. The man was so unbearable behind the camera, to the extent that might earn him the credit deservedly to be the real B. A. (Bad Attitude Peppard!). A character could be summarized perfectly by his own introduction to (Schultz) in the first day of shooting: "My Name is George Peppard: and I'm Not a Very Nice Man!". I loved (Benedict)'s simple story about how the old star was demanding things through him from the new star of the moment (Mr. T). (Benedict) mastered this one fine.

One of the best things that you'll really enjoy in shows or interviews reminiscing about the A-Team is the gathering of (Dwight Schultz) and (Dirk Benedict). The 2 are such a loose madness, unstoppable machine to improvise great jokes. You can glimpse a slight piece of that when the 2 had to meet at the end. Search yourself on line for interviews that have them and you'll witness a natural comic riot which's funnier than the original episodes. And as (Benedict) portrayed it once: "We're not the best, but maybe the funniest".

One last reason pushed me to write about this film. It was the first film I've ever watched on line. And believe it or not, I've watched this documentary 3 times.. Till now, and I'm not even a crazy fan of The A-Team!

I don't know about you, but this film incited me to recall these lyrics: "Then the busy years went rushing by us. We lost our starry notions on the way. If by chance I'd see you in the tavern. We'd smile at one another and we'd say. Those were the days my friend. We thought they'd never end. We'd sing and dance forever and a day.." Long story short: if you have a friendship, just cherish it so much.

She DID appear
pennie147816 February 2007
Melinda Culea appeared in season one and half of season two of "The A-Team" playing Amy Amanda Allen, however, I thought she could become more useful in the show. Marla was cute, but it seemed like she was more of eye-candy for the bad guys than a help to the good guys. I hope that they bring Amy's character back to "The A-Team" and actually give her some lines. I swear I think there was on episode where she didn't have any lines at all. If you're going to put a person on screen, you should give that person lines. If I had to choose between having a female counterpart for "The A-Team" it would be Amy. I loved it when she got mad at Face because her car was totaled.
