A wonderful short from France

I saw this at the 2006 Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films and absolutely loved it. This romantic comedy is the story of a pretty secretary in a law firm who is asked on a dinner date to an upscale restaurant by a handsome young diplomat who spends more time excusing himself from the table to make calls on his cell phone than he does paying attention to his date. This story comes with a twist. Julie Dray turns in a delightful performance as Clara and has the look and exuberant innocence of a young Marisa Tomei. I hope to see more from this actress. Guillaume Gramoisan is wonderful as the inconsiderate time-juggling Julien. Cécile Vernant directs. Sometimes things aren't what they seem. I may have to give this my highest rating of a 10.

Best Comedy in Years

Im not one for watching subtitled movies, but Im glad I made an exception in this case, after a joint i was falling off of my seat with laughter, Best comedy I have seen in years, If it was translated to English I feel the film would lose so much. The film is about a bunch of so called superior intelligent people (Well they think they are) who have a dinner party and invite someone they think is an Idiot along so every one can laugh at the idiot with out them know its them they are taking the pi** out of.

One guy cant find an idiot to invite to the party until a friend meets this guy on the train and gives him his details. He invites the Idiot to meet him, just to see if he is truly an idiot before bringing him to the dinner party. The film and the laughs just keep coming from this point.Take a chance and watch it and you will not regret it. Excellent Movie, Laughs Guaranteed. 5 Stars
