The Master attempts a crude trick with a bomb, but a more serious threat awaits at The Circus. Fortunately two Policemen are on hand to offer a helping hand..
An excellent second episode, it's very well written, clever, and loaded with horror, the tone of this episode is fantastic. The first grizzly moment is the plastic chair of death, the second is the rather brutal murder brought about by that ugly toy. I'm not sure they'd get away with such events nowadays. The cliffhanger is a classic moment, just when you think The Doctor and Jo have escaped danger..... Think again.
It's all cloak and dagger, we wait it vein for The Doctor and Master to meet, the coming together of acid and alkaline.
Roy Stewart, who had previously appeared in Tomb of The Cybermen as Toberman gets to show off his incredible physique.
Classic. 9/10
