Tacoma Fd is one of the funniest and wackiest workplace comedies. The truTV series follows a crew of firefighters in one of the rainiest cities in America. The Tacoma Fire Department crew doesn’t put out a lot of fires but it definitely has some of the funniest members out of any series. The series is currently airing its fourth season, and if you like it so far here are some shows you could watch after Season 4 while waiting for Season 5.

Jay Johnston, an actor on “Bob’s Burgers,” “Arrested Development” and more, was charged by the Department of Justice for participating in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, according to court documents.
Johnston was arrested Wednesday in California, according to NBC News, which broke the news. He faces charges for felony obstruction of officers during civil disorder, in addition to other misdemeanor offenses.
In March 2021, the FBI tweeted a photo of Johnston in the crowd of rioters at the Capitol on Jan. 6 and requested information on his identity. In the court documents, the DOJ identified Johnston via multiple images of him captured on officer body-cam footage, bystander video and CCTV feeds. Johnston could be seen wearing a green camouflage neck gaiter and a dark leather jacket on Capitol grounds. With other rioters, he took a stolen Capitol Police riot shield to create a “shield wall” and push against a line officers.

Of all the misfits in James Gunn's "Peacemaker" series, Steve Agee's John Economos, aka Dye Beard, is the most relatable. The role of the tired, sad, unappreciated It professional speaks to the universal feelings of loneliness, insecurity, and general disdain. John got one of the best lines from "The Suicide Squad" trailer ("We've got a freakin' kaiju!") and my personal favorite monologue in Gunn's follow-up spin-off show, "Peacemaker." Appearing alongside fantastic actors and wacky characters, Agee manages to make his mark.
He's also damn funny.
The actor also played Steven Ned Myron III on "The Sarah Silverman Program," and works as a comedian and musician. Agee reprised his role as Amanda Waller's tech expert in a mid-credits scene of a certain recent superhero movie, and will be returning in the upcoming second season of "Peacemaker," which is not yet in production (but is definitely coming). /Film...

For eight seasons, Brooklyn Nine-Nine was one of the most beloved and funniest comedies on TV. The show even survived a shift to a new network, going from Fox to NBC for its final three seasons. Part of the show’s success is certainly owed to the showrunners’ ability to recognize talented people and apply their skills to the best use for the show. Take Chelsea Peretti’s initial audition, for instance.
Chelsea Peretti plays Gina Linetti on ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Chelsea Peretti attends the Premiere of Illumination’s “Sing 2” I Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
For the show’s first six seasons, Peretti played Gina Linetti. The character serves as the 99th Precinct’s civilian administrator and assistant to commanding officer Raymond Holt (Andree Braugher). Peretti certainly got a lot of juice out of her character’s outsider status within the ensemble cast of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Naturally, Gina Linetti has become her signature role.

Parks and Recreation co-executive producer Harris Wittels was found dead at noon today in his L.A. home, Vulture has confirmed. A spokesperson from the Los Angeles Police Department said Wittels's assistant discovered him, and added that the cause of death could have stemmed from a drug overdose. Wittels, 30, had been involved with Parks in various roles since 2009 and also worked on such shows as Eastbound & Down, Secret Girlfriend, and The Sarah Silverman Program. The multihyphenate was a comedian in his own right, appearing from time to time on IFC's "Comedy Bang Bang" podcast: He also performed in the self-described "piano-weird-pop" trio Don't Stop or We'll Die, which had a Ucb performance scheduled for later this month: Many will also recognize Wittels for bringing the term humblebrag into the pop-culture lexicon, creating a Twitter account for instances of false modesty, in 2010, and then a book, in 2012. It earned five seasons on the TV network after nearly getting canceled several times, and when they finally axed it before the sixth season, Yahoo Screen revived it at the last minute. Sarah Silverman's 19-year-old Chihuahua-pug mix pup died this week. He often went by "Doug": "This is Doug. But he was her real dog, too, and she wrote a touching tribute to Duck on WhoSay:Duck “Doug” Silverman came into my life about 14 years ago. He was picked up by the State running through South Central with no collar, tags or chip. Nobody claimed or adopted him so a no-kill shelter took him in. That’s where I found him — at that shelter, in Van Nuys. Since then we have slept most every night together (and many lazy afternoons.) When we first met, the vet approximated his age at 5½ so I’d say he was about 19 as of yesterday, September 3, 2013. He was a happy dog, though serene. And stoic. And he...

So what do you all think? What's your favorite Sarah moment? Who here thinks she is a terrible Comedian/Actress? I would love some feedback.

Loosely based on Silverman's own life [2], the untitled single-camera show will star the comedian as a woman getting back into single life after getting out of a ten-year relationship. Silverman is set to co-write the pilot with Dan Sterling and Jon Schroeder, both of whom worked on her previous series The Sarah Silverman Program. Also on board with the project is Ron Howard, who has been "deeply involved" with the show's development, and his Imagine Entertainment partner Brian Grazer. Worth noting: The last time Grazer and Howard collaborated on a single-camera network comedy series, the result was Arrested Development. I'll be keeping an eye on this one. [The Hollywood Reporter [3]] After the jump, a Daily Show writer plays with Henson puppets, a Sopranos actor returns to organized crime, and Clone Wars' fourth season gets a trailer.

Sarah Silverman's upcoming comedy series has found a home at NBC, an individual familiar with the project confirms to TheWrap. The single-camera comedy, which is being co-produced by Imagine TV and 20th Century Fox Television, has received a put-pilot commitment from NBC, following a bidding war between multiple networks. Silverman is co-writing with Dan Sterling and Jon Schroeder, both veterans of Comedy Central's "The Sarah Silverman Program." Silverman will co-executive produce with Sterling, Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo. The series had also sparked interest from ABC and Fox.

The foul-mouthed comedian Sarah Silverman, 40, has appeared on the big screen a few times, mostly as cranky girlfriends or sisters (School Of Rock, most recently Peep World) and appeared on her own TV comedy variety hour, The Sarah Silverman Program. But for the first time (that I can recall, anyway), network execs are utilizing Silverman to, well, act.

Today, Logo announced five shows it is developing. I’ll list them below so you can read about the expansion of the RuPaul’s Drag Race dynasty and the show Sarah Silverman is exec producing. For me, the clear standout is Queen of Harts, from Peter Marc Jacobson, co-creator and producer of The Nanny. It’s described in the release as, “a multi-camera comedy series about a struggling hairdresser who disguises himself as a woman in order to land a job as a nanny for a former ’80s rock star’s family.” Seriously, this is the perfect comedy: You get...

TV audiences likely know her best as Officer Tig, the lesbian lawwoman who made Sarah Silverman question her own sexual identity on the Comedy Central hit "The Sarah Silverman Program." But Tig Notaro has been making a name for herself as a standup comic since moving to Los Angeles 11 years ago. Her dry, easygoing delivery, which Silverman has compared to Bob Newhart's, masks a surprisingly wicked wit. "I've been told I'm the quickest slowest comedian you'll ever see, because my delivery is slow," Notaro notes. "But if I have to come up with something, I'm rarely at a loss." In addition to touring the country with her standup and recurring on Silverman's program, Notaro also hosts the show "Tig and Friends" at L.A.'s Largo at the Coronet Theatre. The next show is June 1 and features the cast of the Starz series "Party Down." The show is a...

She used to be f--king Matt Damon. Now she's just f--ked. Or at least her TV show is, as Comedy Central has decided not to renew The Sarah Silverman Program for a fourth season. No reason was given, but the cable net didn't exactly help the show when, halfway through its (apparently) last season, it pushed the show's time slot from prime time to midnight. Silverman has yet to comment (let alone tweet!) about the cancellation, but we're guessing she wasn't exactly blindsided: Last year, she and her producers were prepared to walk away from the show after the network tried to slash its budget. Well, maybe now that she's unemployed, she can take a cue from Conan O'Brien...

... Comedy Central has canceled The Sarah Silverman Program after three seasons, leaving a gaping hole on television where comedies featuring a hot chick making poop jokes should be. The show barely survived the axe last season, so the cancellation this time around shouldn't be a big surprise. May your path to re-employment be paved with doody, Sarah. [Doodyline Hollypoop]

Poor Sarah Silverman. As first reported in Deadline, the pigtailed, foul-mouth comic's comedy series, The Sarah Silverman Program, has been canceled. (Comedy Central confirmed to EW: "We will not be renewing it for a fourth season.") Somehow, I blame God. (Or Ben Affleck.) Because, as we know, Sarah rejected the needy King of Kings. So I imagine his hands are all over this. Either way, I'll miss Silverman's irreverent brand of comedy on television, and plan on growing a mustache while in mourning. But who am I kidding? I could never pull it off like she does. PopWatchers, will you miss The Sarah Silverman Program?...

"I love famous people. They're even much better than the real thing, y'know?" - Baby, The Devil's Rejects
Oh God. I've only gone and made a right boob of myself. Bloody hell.
I met Richard Herring a little while ago. Kind of. What happened was, I went to see his show Hitler Moustache at the Leicester Square Theatre in London and I had a lovely time. However, it was difficult to get drinks and the venue was warm.
So, when I was leaving, I felt dehydrated and my mouth was very dry. I was also incredibly tired. I'd gone straight from work and had been having a busy old week. On my way out, I wanted to pick up a copy of his new DVD and was pleased...

In its continuing quest to be G4 and Spike, Comedy Central has almost definitely pulled the plug on The Sarah Silverman Program. This week the network aired the third season finale and Sarah Silverman herself tweeted that it was probably the series finale as well, calling it the "Last episode Ever" just days after series star Brian Posehn said in an interview that he would be "completely surprised" if it was renewed for a fourth season.
The third season almost didn't happening either, as the notoriously cheap Comedy Central balked at actually having to pay for a well-rated, well-reviewed show on its channel. It was only after Logo stepped in with the money that Silverman and her executive producers felt they needed for the show to meet their standards, that a third season was made. I’m going to come out and say I’ve got a geek crush on Sarah Silverman. Sure, she may not be what some people would think of as hot, but her combination of looks, brains and humor make for a deadly mix indeed — at least in my humble opinion. I just know she would be great to hang out with and obviously, her mind is probably right there in the gutter along with mine. What more could you ask for in a woman?
So, it is with great interest that I watch her tv series on Comedy Central, aka The Sarah Silverman Program. And now, we’ve got a little preview of tonight’s episode for you right here. In the preview, Sarah feels that Steve’s request to see a jam band puts a strain on their friendship. But then he plays the favor card and things go wrong from there.

After her very public on-again, off-again relationship with late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman has a new man in her life: "Family Guy" writer Alec Sulkin. Unlike Kimmel, Sulkin is Jewish, which the comedian says is a big deal for both her and her father.
"My dad was shocked," Silverman told MTV News when she spoke with us to promote the return of her show, "The Sarah Silverman Program." "He asked me if [my boyfriend] was Jewish jokingly, because I never go out with Jews, and he is.
"We, like, fast together; every day's Yom Kippur with us," she added, joking. "No, neither of us is religious."
Silverman said she'll spend Valentine's Day in a low-key way, even though the day also happens to be Sulkin's birthday.

Last year, MTV News' Josh Horowitz chatted with "Get Him to the Greek" star and Video Music Awards host Russell Brand in one of the elevators here at MTV News headquarters in Times Square. It went so well that Horowitz decided to give the idea another spin, this time with actress and comedian Sarah Silverman. The pair talked about a multitude of topics, from Silverman's thoughts on "American Idol" to her approach on the third season of her show "The Sarah Silverman Program."
Of course, there are certain pitfalls to hanging out and talking to an acerbic television star in an elevator. For one thing, there are other people. For another, there's the constant shift in elevation (which caused Silverman's ears to pop). Those same elevation shifts also apparently had quite an effect on Silverman's cleavage, which seemed to frustrate her. "Sorry about my heaving breasts," she told Horowitz.

At least one voice in the Twitter-Wood feed was happy to Mike Dunleavy depart from his role as head coach of the Los Clippers this week. Most of Tw's citizens veer toward the Lakers in the basketball tweets, so it's always great to get some variety when someone like Danny Masterson speaks up to acknowledge L.A.'s other NBA team.
It was a big day for criticism off the court, too. Michael McKean didn't seem too impressed with "Spartacus: Blood & Sand" on Starz, Tinsel Korey chimed in to weigh in against her "Twilight" co-star Alex Meraz's comments from yesterday about Taylor Lautner's film "Valentine's Day" and Steve Agee shouted back after Rainn Wilson launch a snark bomb at him about "The Sarah Silverman Program." All of those tweets and some Jackie Chan fan artwork await you after the jump in Twitter-Wood for February 5, 2010.

It may not have seemed that Sarah Silverman was busy in 2009, especially since the last time we saw 'The Sarah Silverman Program' on Comedy Central was December of 2008. But she was busy behind the scenes.
Silverman filmed 'Saint John of Las Vegas' with Steve Buscemi, which played the festival circuit last year and gets a wider release this year, 'Peep World' with Michael C. Hall and Rainn Wilson, and wrote her memoir, 'The Bedwetter: Stories of Courage, Redemption, and Pee,' which is due in April.
Silverman was also negotiating with Comedy Central for 'The Sarah Silverman Program.' Comedy Central wanted to cut her budget from $1.1 million per episode to $850,000, which was a non-starter for Silverman and her partners.

Sarah Silverman returns to Comedy Central on Thursday night (February 4) for the start of the third season of "The Sarah Silverman Program." What's new for the show in 2010?
"I think we've matured, but we're also extra dumb," she told MTV News.
That about sums up Silverman's show, in which she plays a twisted, fictionalized version of herself alongside her real-life sister, Laura. Past seasons have seen the duo exploring themes of bestiality, AIDS, pot, adoption, lesbians, immigration and God — and doing it all for dark belly laughs.
Expect the new season to be no different, based on some teasers we got about upcoming episodes. In the premiere, Silverman said, "I found out I was born with both looks and personality. But I don't really. That's what my sister tells me.

If Only There Were A Sport For Masculine Men!
New York Magazine has an article about figure skating titled "The Less Flamboyant One" with the tease "Evan Lysacek may wear feathers, but he’s not Johnny Weir. Can his Olympic bid give male figure skating a more “mainstream” reputation?"
And things only go downhill from there.
The gist of the piece is that the rivalry between U.S. figure skaters Evan Lysacek and Johnny Weir is best viewed through the prism of masculinity and how being more "masculine" is seen as better for the sport, an attitude best summed up by this quote in the article from Lysacek's grandmother:
Initially, Evan wanted to do hockey. He’s not flamboyant. His goal has always been to have dads watch him skate and then see that it’s okay for their sons to do this, too. Evan’s always wanted people to...
