While at playing the music for Ginger's musical numbers, Mary Ann is seen operating a standard portable record player. In subsequent episodes they were seen using record players with the ship's wheel for a turntable and an oversized megaphone speaker (emulating a gramophone).
A three hour tour would not inspire a Hollywood actress to bring a suit case full of clothes as she would not be planning to spend the night anywhere. It makes sense to see her in one outfit but then she makes a dress from Gilligan's duffle bag. But no explanation is given where she got the bikini top and long skirt made of a tropical pattern. Nor the leopard skinned bathing suit prior or in this episode two new dresses.
The Howells anticipate that the Skipper will perform the wedding of Gilligan and Mary Ann. But a ship captain does not have the authority to grant marriages, contrary to popular belief which stems from copious references in early-20th-century romantic novels.
