Poignant Insight To a Hilarious Condition.
d-baker-843-25044812 September 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Joe Blackburn is no ordinary 21 year old. No he suffers from PWS. Prada- Willi Sydrome. A condition that causes him to never feel full from overeating and also affects his development emotionally. Having recently moved into Gretton home Blackburn (from Bradford) initially finds it difficult to settle in and struggles to get along with the other residents.

He develops a rivalry with fellow PWS sufferer Garfield (not the cat but a rather hot blooded resident intent on getting past Joe anyway possible). Often coming to blows Joe and Garfield are locked in a never ending battle. Joe often orders Garfield to "Shut his big fat mouth" to which Garfield often responds "Don't you dare call me fat Joe". These battles make up almost a third of the documentary.

Joe also struggles to co-exist with the care workers at Gretton House. His conditional immaturity often getting the better of them. One such occasion is where Joe is demanding his book. Loud demands of "You get me my book please, You get me John please and I know it's on the sheet cos I've seen it" can be heard from behind a locked door.

But all is not doom and gloom for Joe. He finds love in the form of Sarah. Upon meeting Sarah Joe falls instantly and proposed on the spot. Sarah accepts and almost immediately sends Tamara to rescind Joes proposal. Distraught Joe enlists Clint, A PWS sufferer convinced he's the reincarnation of (still alive) Clint Eastwood, to save his "marriage".

Joe eventually makes it home for a Chicken Curry and WKD with his Dad in Bradford.

The Documentary, while hilarious, sheds light on a condition many will have never heard of. Joe is an instant youtube sensation and will be loved eternal for his quick wit and one liners. As well as his immense weight and never ending row of chins. Watch out for the spin off featuring Tamara Allwood and her estranged Boyfriend Martin AKA JUNGLE KING !
