Excellent Movie
rutprez29 August 2006
I had the pleasure of seeing this movie in the Rhode Island Film Festival it was an excellent portrayal of a family stuck in a crisis. The movie allowed viewers to see a different and new perspective of Hurricane Katrina, rather than see footage of the storm, the Director, and producers showed a psychological side of the storm. It reminded me a lot of the "Diary of Ann Frank," a book/movie that showed a different side of the holocaust without showing the concentration camps.

I look forward to seeing whether this movie become a feature length film.

If this movie is turned into a full feature film, I would like to see other stories of people who were stuck in hurricane Katrina without any rescue.

Festival Award Winner and much more

As the director of the 2007 All-American Film Festival, I was very pleased that our judges chose "Katrina's Wake" for the "Best Film Of The Festival" award. Well-written and superbly directed, this film packs an amazing amount of energy, character development and action into its short 20 minute run time. Kat Phillips is a wonderful filmmaker who more than deserves all of the awards her films are currently gathering on the festival circuit. If you get a chance to see "Katrina's Wake", don't miss it! Some of Kat's other films are true gems as well. "Space Available" has screened at dozens of film festivals around the world and has won nearly a dozen festival awards. Her latest film, "Day Care", is currently in post-production and will be out on the independent film festival circuit later this year. Check it out!
