This show has so much potential- but chose to play it safe.

Big Pete has become junior lifeguard at the Wellsville municipal pool and everything seems to be going great. While at the pool, he is the one everyone looks to to save swimming for everyone. Pete has even caught the eye of a beautiful young woman that he has been trying to impress. But his main goal is to be able to make it to senior lifeguard and get to sit in the mechanical chair where Matt Oplinger, the senior lifeguard, sits.

But there is a problem at the pool. Every time they call for 'adult swim', Little Pete causes some type of havoc that fouls up the parents from swimming. Matt Oplinger, asks Big Pete if he can take care of his brother and he will finally get to sit in the lifeguard chair that he has been been wanting since getting hired. Big Pete is going to have to betray his brother to occupy the chair.

This episode has a lot of potential but just did not live up to what was expected. This seemed to be a great idea and the show could have went in so many directions but choose to redo the recurring theme instead of introducing new adventures. It was like the same plot but this time at a pool. It was still entertaining enough to make for a fine show. It was just so much potential that was lost.

Water War

Warning: Spoilers
Warning do not read unless seen episode.

This is another solid episode, it's not a favorite of mine but it's fun all the same. Yeah, despite the themes not exactly new on old and young rivalry as well as what one does and goes though to get to the top, and fighting for your rights, it was still fun due to the setting and just seeing both Old and Young Pete together which has been sorely lacking in Season 3.

There is this subplot with Pete trying to hook up with the pool girl Libby which I felt was the weak point of the episode. She was just another GF of the week, that were supposed to care about one day but then forget the next. Don't get me wrong she's nice looking but she's no Ellen whom is only in this episode briefly which tees me off.

But were in this episode to see both Old and Young Pete clash. I really like that one water chasing scene as we see both Young and Old Pete on Waveriders. The funniest thing about it is the fact this chase takes place in a pool, how the heck they can conduct a chase at all in a pool since there's very little space to run is anyone's guess.

I do like a bit of the drama as we see Old Pete having normal desires like any of us but slowly but surely selling out to get them, he starts to become something he doesn't like. Though that were hoping Old Pete will come though and do the right thing.

It then comes down to the final splashdown when Young Pete then takes out the big gun by going on the diving board during adult swim. I really love that visual joke on the adjustment of the settings where he turns it to atomic. Young Pete realizes he'll sacrifice his own right to go to the pool for this, but it's something he has to do for everyone else's right. Just seeing that I was thinking yeah cmon Young Pete jump. Will Young Pete make the big splash and will Old Pete come though or sell out, you'll have to wait and see.
