Sex & Nudity

  • The main male characters wear clothes that accentuate the male form including their large muscles, some of which are exposed. There is also topless male nudity.
  • There is a scene where Bruce banner appears naked. Nothing explicit is shown.
  • Tony makes a joke about "performance issues".
  • Natasha wears a tight suit throughout the film.
  • Infrequent innuendo when a man's inability to use a weapon is referred to as 'performance issues'
  • Natasha romanoffs clothed*is focused several through out the move
  • Pepper wears short shorts at the beginning.
  • A character tells Bruce Banner that he saw Hulk flying in the air big, green and buck-ass nude.
  • Tony and Pepper kiss once, and there is some mildly suggestive talk between them (we cant hear it, no voice).

Violence & Gore

  • Throughout the movie multiple Chituari (the movie's villains) are killed by the Avengers. There is occasional, brief spurts of purple blood.
  • There are intense action sequences in which characters fight and exchange crunchy blows. There are bloodless stabbings and a brief sequence in which a man is impaled with a bloodied blade. There are occasional moments of injury detail, but the violence is relatively bloodless
  • Loki uses a device to rip out a man's eyeball. You don't see him physically remove it, but you do hear the squelching from the removal and you see the man physically writhing as his eye is removed.
  • Loki uses a machine to gorge a man's eye out, he is heard screaming and writhing. Disturbing.
  • Really nothing too bad.
  • Throughout the film, there are many intense action sequences that include fights, kicks, punches, punched down people, and shootouts in which many people killed but no blood. There are many destruction scenes.
  • The climactic final battle scene is very intense, destructive, and harsh. Some minor blood on protagonist's faces and bodies.
  • Bruce Banner reveals that he tried to kill himself by shooting himself in the mouth, but says "the other guy" (the Hulk) spit the bullet out. It is very intense to hear the story.

Profanity

  • There is mild bad language ('hell', 'damn', 'ass', 'son of a bitch', 'pissed off', 'bastards').
  • 'P*ssed off' is said.
  • 'B*stards' is said.
  • 'D*mn' is said once.
  • '*ss' is said once.
  • 2 uses of hell, 2 uses of piss, 1 use of damn, 1 use of bastard 1 use of ass
  • Loki hurls out the British anatomical vulgarity "quim" as a sexist putdown.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Tony offers Loki a drink. Later Loki says, "If its all the same to you, I'll have that drink now"
  • A man is asked if he has a 'huge bag of weed'.
  • Tony and Pepper sip champagne.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Lots of fighting and intense scenes throughout.
  • A character makes a comment about a failed suicide attempt.
  • The Chitauri and their leader, the Other, are extremely scary, especially for young children. Though they typically wear armored masks, one Chitauri rips its mask off at one point, revealing a disfigured alien face.
  • Though the film may have scary disturbing and creepy characters this film can be light hearted probably one of the most light hearted movies made by marvel
  • The Hulk chases the Black Widow, causing massive destruction along the way.
  • There is a few scenes that could definitely frighten younger viewers, but nothing too crazy.
  • For tweens/teens.
  • There are several prolonged and intense action sequences, but they're not shot in an overtly horrific or graphic way, and there are also many comedic moments throughout the film that lighten the tension.
  • Bruce Banner has many scenes where he is apparently getting emotionally stressed enough to transform into the Hulk, and all the other characters show obvious fear of that happening.
  • The alien master known as The Other is very scary and disturbing.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is stabbed in the back. The blade protrudes from his chest with blood on the edges and his mouth.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Iron Man intercepts a nuclear missile headed for Manhattan, forces it into a portal leading to an alien base, and agrees to call his girlfriend (implying that he understands he might die); however, the call fails and he stares at the exploding alien base while falling back through the portal (he is unconscious as he plummets toward the earth but he is saved before hitting the ground and is revealed to be alive and unharmed). This scene is very intense.
  • One scene that takes place in Stuttgart, Germany, includes a short but frightening shot of Loki flipping a man over and using a device to seemingly scan or take out his eyeball. Though this is not explicitly shown, the man is heard yelling in pain and writhing.
