If a network wants to boost its "Bash," adding Heather Locklear isn't a bad way to go.
The actress, considered a good-luck charm by the late television uber-producer Aaron Spelling -- who cast her in "Dynasty," "T.J. Hooker" and arguably her biggest career success to date, "Melrose Place" -- returns to series work by joining the regular cast of TNT's law drama "Franklin & Bash" when it starts its third season Wednesday, June 19.
She plays the firm's new partner, Rachel King, a hard-charging professional who's more than a bit reminiscent of her "Melrose" character, Amanda Woodward. And that's hardly by coincidence, Locklear tells Zap2it.
"I'm so lucky," she says. "When this came, I was like, 'Oh, this should be fine.' The character was already pretty laid out for me, and I'm just adding what I would do on a daily basis in my acting.

NBC will has already started its coverage of Super Bowl Xlvi (it started at noon Et, but the actual game doesn’t start until 6:30pm). How are other channels trying to lure you away? Here’s a quick look:
Downton Abbey: I know at least one person staying home from a Super Bowl party so she can watch the new episode (PBS, check local listings). Here’s hoping Violet’s “cold” is better.
Chick flicks: TBS is betting on The Wedding Date (6:15 p.m. Et) and Hitch (8 p.m. Et), while AMC is following a 2:30 p.

Heather Locklear is a favorite with Lifetime viewers who are women 18 and over. (So there are other Lifetime viewers?) Proof: In that demo, 2008′s Flirting With Forty, co-starring Robert Buckley’s abs, rated in the network’s top three original movies, and 2007′s Angels Fall, co-starring Johnathon Schaech, was one of the top ten most-watched telecasts in the history of the channel. You can bet Lifetime has high hopes for He Loves Me, a psychological thriller Locklear will topline for 2011. As will viewers once they read the synopsis: She Goes Insane! Said plot: “By all appearances in He Loves Me,...

Picking up where we left off last week for the first official cliffhanger of Doctor Who's eleventh incarnation, Amy, River, the clerics, and the Doctor find themselves standing upside down on the underside of the Byzantium's hull. The exploding gravity globe created enough of an updraft for their jump to reach the ship, which still had its artificial gravity in effect. Below - or above from their perspective - wait the Weeping Angels, whose features are becoming more defined as they ingest the power from the Byzantium's leaking radiation.
The Doctor uses the trusty sonic screwdriver to gain access to the interior of the ship. The ship's interior gravity orients them to the floor, but they are immediately trapped inside the corridor. Summit has just debuted the official poster for Roman Polanski's The Ghost Writer today. A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to see the film and I actually really enjoyed it. In fact, I was quoted in USA Today talking about how great it was and my thoughts the situation. It's a great mystery film with a great cast and an incredible story with some riveting twists and turns. And the score by Alexandre Desplat was incredible as well. To reference my own quote from USA Today, "it's very Hitchcockian." This poster looks pretty good, I love Pierce Brosnan on the wall behind him. Watch the first trailer here as well if you haven't seen it yet! The Ghost Writer is directed by Oscar winning Polish-French filmmaker Roman Polanski, of many great films including When Angels Fall, Repulsion, Dance of the Vampires, Rosemary's Baby, Chinatown, Frantic, The Ninth Gate,...

Thanks to our French friends at AlloCine.fr (via Twitch) we can finally watch the official full-length trailer for Roman Polanski's new thriller The Ghost Writer starring Ewan McGregor, Pierce Brosnan, Timothy Hutton, Kim Cattrall, and Olivia Williams. Put aside your feelings towards Polanski and enjoy this trailer because it looks fantastic. It kind of reminds me of a Martin Scorsese thriller mixed with Chinatown. I've been very excited for this ever since we debuted that teaser last summer but this is the crème de la crème. Despite all that Polanski's been accused of, he's still a phenomenal filmmaker, and this trailer proves it. 15-second teaser is our first look at Roman Polanski’s new movie “The Ghost.”
The thriller directed by Oscar winning Polish-French filmmaker Roman Polanski (“The Pianist,” “When Angels Fall,” “Rosemary’s Baby,” “Repulsion,” “Chinatown,” “Frantic,” “The Ninth Gate”) is based on Robert Harris‘ novel of the same name. The script is co-written by Polanski and Harris.
The story centers on a ghostwriter (Ewan McGregor) who is hired to complete the memoirs of a former British Prime Minister (Pierce Brosnan). He uncovers secrets that put his own life in jeopardy. Most of the story takes place in an oceanfront house during the middle of winter.
“The Ghost” which stars Ewan McGregor, Pierce Brosnan, Kim Cattrall, Olivia Williams, Jim Belushi, Robert Pugh, Timothy Hutton and Tom Wilkinson is scheduled to be released sometime in 2010.

You might not know (or forgot), but Polish-French director Roman Polanski has been working on a new film titled The Ghost since last year. We wrote about it a few times while it was casting, but that's about it. Ewan McGregor stars as a ghostwriter hired to complete the memoirs of a former British prime minister played by Pierce Brosnan. This teaser appeared recently on the official website for The Ghost (that I didn't even know existed until now) found at: theghost-romanpolanski.com. For a 15-second teaser, it looks fantastic, and I'm definitely very interested in seeing more from this. Glad to have Polanski back again. "Fear Itself" should be pretty fresh in your minds considering it's hitting DVD soon with some very bitchin' artwork. The short-lived show was like the unofficial third season of "Masters of Horror". For various reasons it was pulled before it could run its final five episodes. FEARnet is out to fix all that.
Starting on September 2nd the final five will begin being aired. Below you'll find a synopsis of each episode and when you can tune in to see them.
"Something With Bite," directed by Ernest Dickerson (NBC’s "Heroes"), is a reinvention of the classic werewolf story from writer Max Landis ("Masters of Horror"), the son of John Landis ("An American Werewolf in London"). When a veterinarian (Wendell Pierce, “The Wire”) is bitten by a large, strange animal brought into his clinic, he begins to see the world and his stale life differently. Paula Jai Parker (“Side Order of Life,...

The downtrend continues for the NBA All-Star Game as Sunday's matchup in Las Vegas drew the lowest ratings since the telecast moved to TNT in 2003.
The game, during which the Western Conference beat the Eastern Conference in a 153-132 win, averaged 6.8 million total viewers in its 8:30 p.m. ET airing, according to Nielsen Media Research. The game drew 10.8 million viewers in 2003 and has been declining every year since, averaging just over 7 million last year.
In other cable ratings, Lifetime's Carolina Moon, one of four movie adaptations of Nora Roberts novels, drew solid numbers in its debut at 9-11 p.m. Monday. The movie, starring Claire Forlani, Oliver Hudson and Jacqueline Bisset, averaged 3.7 million total viewers. The Roberts adaptations have done well for Lifetime, though Moon's viewership was off from the 4.9 million that the first movie, Angels Fall, drew Jan. 29.
Court TV, meanwhile, is seeing viewership increases thanks to its coverage of the case surrounding the late Anna Nicole Smith.
