Sex & Nudity

- Two sex scenes with kissing, moaning and thrusting, but no nudity is shown. The first sex scene is a series of quick cuts of two people having sex. The second scene is a bird's eye view of the same people having sex in a different scene, but a blanket covers their bodies. It last for maybe 3-4 seconds, and is in slow motion.
- Male nudity can be glimpsed for a brief second towards the very end of the film, although it is CGI and easy to miss.
- No female nudity.
- CGI nudity at the end. Not graphic or lengthy.
Violence & Gore

- A girl is being tortured by Cenobites and chains hook into her flesh and contort her body into painful positions. Her entire back is later ripped away from the rest of her body.
- The Cenobites mutilations are shown in great detail. Tendons, bones, flayed skin, metal wires and other objects are inserted.
- A man is attacked by hooked chains that are summoned after solving the puzzle box. The first pierces his leg in bloody detail before being dragged across the floor. He is then seen being held up in the air by several other chains pierced through his limbs and torso; no gory detail as this is shot from far away. The man screams in agony throughout and the sound of new hooks stabbing him can be heard, which is unsettling to hear. His death is not shown onscreen.
- Numerous characters are accidentally/deliberately stabbed with blades that protrude from the puzzle box. Blood and small open wounds from the trauma is often shown.
- Wires are summoned by a cenobite, wrapping around the face, throat and arms of a male victim, pinning him face-up against a platform. Blood spatters as the wires tighten. The skin off one of the victims forearms is degloved by the wires (graphic!)
- Much more violent and gruesome than the original.
Profanity

- 77 uses of "fuck", including a few barely audible ones, and frequent uses of "shit".
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- Cigarette smoking and alcohol consumption in a few scenes.
- The main character struggles with substance abuse, and is seen taking pills.

- There are scenes of strong threat in which characters are tormented by ominous creatures and hallucinate.

Violence & Gore
- A nude man is transformed into a Cenobite. His skin is flayed from his body in graphic detail.
- A cenobite is selected after being stabbed by the box. Several chains are shown being shot into the cenobite from multiple directions, after which the cenobite is torn into pieces. Body parts are shown flying out with gore and blood splattering.
- After pulling a long pin out of their own head, The Hell Priest (aka Pinhead) tortures a female victim by slowly pushing the pin all the way through her neck, whilst she's being held in the air by hooked chains. The scene is made more graphic by the shot from the inside of her throat as the pin is being pushed through. The Hell Priest proceeds to twist and move the pin, changing the pitch of the victims screams.
