Classic season 5 episode
MarkLynnIreland12942 August 2022
This is not only one of my favourite episodes of Season 5 "Master Quest" yet also, like "Address Unown", this is somewhat very bizarrely frightening.

Brock is again hilariously deluded by appearance of kimono lady named Lokoko (unaware she's some hallucination, or rather as she mentioned she's an illusion) and doesn't appear in mirrors) and bright elegant Ninetales. At first, things seemed elegant only then it's not want it seems even Team Rocket trio (and Wobbuffet) were fooled by rooms full of potato crisps and popcorn. Brock is not too fooled care of what's happening even saying "The mirror is incapable of reflecting her vast beauty, that's all".

Not only this episode gives ghostly mystery and there's hidden secret Ninetales is keeping only Ash and Misty do detective work halfway in the episode, there's also great sense of heartbreak as one character is stuck is long time of loneliness.

As Brock is victim of mistaken identity, Ash and Misty find out that Ninetales owner (Brock's lookalike) has not been seen in about two centuries, which they somewhat don't actually mention, he has died (no clear idea what happened to him).

I agree with the goof when Brock mentions he had a Ninetales a while back, yet he actually had a Vulpix, its prevolution.

The most hauntingly sad episode
reddragonhero1727 October 2023
Viewers were completely taken by surprise by this classic episode of the original series, owing itself to Japanese folklore/mythology, as the heroes look for shelter and find it in the form of a girl and her Ninetales inside a grand mansion. At first things look pretty elegant, but things are not exactly what they seem, in fact what the heroes don't know is that everything is a ghostly curse or illusion, even Team Rocket experiences it. Could it be that the girl is a ghost? Or perhaps the Ninetales has some dark secrets? Without revealing anything, this episode will actually pierce straight to your soul as you slowly uncover the truth with the heroes, and at the same time you'll feel depressed as it covers the theme of lonliness to one character. This episode will stick with you for a long time.
