The art in Widmore's office has echos of Dharma, and LOST island. The painting behind Desmond has a Polar Bear, an upside down Buddha, and the word Namaste backwards.
In the pub scene where Desmond is watching a football match with his friend, he references a fictional English club called Graybridge. The actual match playing though is a 1991 La Liga game between Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The song that Desmond hears playing by the jukebox in the pub is "Make Your Own Kind Of Music" by 'Mama' Cass Elliot. It is the same song he played in the Swan station just minutes before Jack and Locke blew the hatch open.
The song Charlie is singing is Wonderwall by Oasis. Not unlike Driveshaft, Oasis is a British rock band based around two brothers from Manchester, one of which is named Liam.
The book Hurley is reading is Vladimir Nabokov's novel "Laughter in the Dark". It is a book about a guy whose sex addiction is his undoing.
