Wherever Star Wars actor Ewan McGregor goes, a certain bearded Jedi follows. In 2019, when McGregor and his travel writer friend Charley Boorman arrived in a small South American town (McGregor thinks it was in Peru) amid a long motorcycle journey, so too did a legion of fans excited to meet Obi-Wan Kenobi.
“We were in a small town and there are these long winding steps all the way up to this famous lighthouse,” McGregor says. “We were going up and someone asked for an autograph. I was happy to do that. Then the same thing happened on another flight of stairs up. Then a bunch of people were arriving going, ‘Oh, we didn’t know where you’d be.’ Turns out (our location) was on a Star Wars social media platform or site. They were always very friendly though. It was never a chore.”
For now, Star Wars is in the rearview.

To celebrate the release of Long Way Up, the eagerly anticipated reuniting of Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman after almost 12 years, we sat down with the guys to chat about all things motorbikes.
Together again after their first two trips – Long Way Round and Long Way Down – McGregor and Boorman have mixed things up this time by deciding to do their newest trip on electric motorbikes which presented the duo with some amazing equipment but also proved to be a different challenge altogether, not least with trying to charge their new bikes in the middle of nowhere. But they told us that overall it was the right decision but did make for some heartstopping moments in the show, not least seeing McGregor having to be pulled along to make a once-a-day ferry.

Principal Photography Begins On New Line Cinema’s Vacation Starring Ed Helms and Christina Applegate
“It’s a Long Way Down The Holiday Road!”
The next generation of Griswolds is at it again. Shooting has begun in Georgia on New Line Cinema’s Vacation, starring Ed Helms (“The Hangover” films) and Christina Applegate (the “Anchorman” films) on the road for another ill-fated adventure.
The film marks Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley’s directorial debut.
Following in his father’s footsteps and hoping for some much-needed family bonding, a grown-up Rusty Griswold (Helms) surprises his wife, Debbie (Applegate), and their two sons with a cross-country trip back to America’s “favorite family fun park,” Walley World.
Rounding out the cast are Chris Hemsworth (the “Thor” films) in the role of Stone Crandall, Rusty’s irritatingly successful brother-in-law; Charlie Day (the “Horrible Bosses” films), who plays a river rafting guide; and Skyler Gisondo (“Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb,” “Hard Sell”) and Steele Stebbins...

New co-production platform to take place during Champs Elysées Film Festival in June.
The team behind Les Arcs European Film Festival is launching a new Paris-based co-production market to run in the French capital in June.
The new event, titled Paris Coproduction Village, launches its call for applications today (March 11) with a deadline for April 18.
The platform has been created to continue the work of Paris Project, which used to run during the Paris Cinema Film Festival in July but has been axed due to public spending cuts. The festival continues in a reduced format.
“Paris is a key hub for co-productions and from the moment it became clear that Paris Project was being axed, we decided to launch an alternative platform,” explained Pierre Emmanuel Fleurantin, co-founder of Les Arcs European Film Festival alongside Guillaume Calop.

Tom Odell, the first male winner of the Brits Critics' Choice winner, is preparing to release his highly-anticipated debut album on 24 June.
To mark the occasion, the 22-year-old with boyish blond locks and a highly prized voice, has recorded a track by track video in which he talks honestly about the process of recording some of the songs, which The Huffington Post UK can exclusively bring you above.
The Chichester-born star, who will support the Rolling Stones at their Hyde Park gig on 13 July, reveals how, initially, he didn't like every tune that's made it onto his debut album, 'Long Way Down'.
In the video, Odell, who has already sold out the whole of his European tour before the release of his album, introduces 'Grow With Me', which he says is "the oldest track on the album".

The always dashing and daring Ewan McGregor isn’t one to shy away from difficult roles. Nowhere is this more evident than his latest role in the tsunami film The Impossible, opening in limited release this week before expanding to theatres across the country in January.
The Impossible tells the harrowing account of one family’s experience during the Thailand tsunami on Boxing Day 2004. A British family’s idyllic Christmas beach vacation quickly becomes a nightmare when the giant wave hits their Thai resort in this terrifying true story. Pack yourself some tissues because there won’t be a dry eye in the theatre. Premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival, the film has gone on to earn some well-deserved raves, especially for the film’s stars Naomi Watts, Tom Holland who plays one of the couple’s young sons, and Ewan McGregor.

In the four decades after they first exploded (literally) onto the stage, Kiss have become so overshadowed by their own mass-marketed image that latter-day fans may forget they were once standard-bearers of simply built but spectacularly larger-than-life rock 'n' roll. I started to remember that standard once again in 2009, when the band summoned up that old heroic strut and spontaneous energy for their well-received comeback Sonic Boom. With this year's new release Monster (which is also their 20th studio album, by the way), Kiss managed to clear the bar that they'd hiked up pretty high already, and the music even stacks up well to some of the band's time-tested classics... thanks in part to the band's choice to embrace a jam-session songwriting approach, with the band members often tracking their parts simultaneously in the studio, and the rejection of digital recording equipment, all the way down to choosing analog tape...

Aaron Paul, who has made a name for himself as Jesse Pinkman on AMC’s Breaking Bad, is the newest name attached to the film adaptation of the novel Long Way Down by Nick Hornby. According to Deadline, the film – which is being directed by Pascal Chaumeil – will begin shooting in London this September for a 2013 release date.
Previous Nick Hornby adaptations have served as excellent showcases for acting talent, from John Cusack in High Fidelity to Hugh Grant in About A Boy, which also acted as a launching pad for Nicholas Hoult.
Considering the acting chops that Paul has put on display through four-plus seasons of Breaking Bad, there’s no reason to expect that this won’t act in a similar capacity for him. Given that this is a tale about a group of suicidal people meeting on a rooftop on New Year’s Eve, and it co-stars Pierce Brosnan,...

Emile Hirsch probably should’ve been nominated for an Oscar when he led Into the Wild and, though I don’t know how much that snub affected his career, the going’s been a little rough in the years since that film hit. Although Speed Racer has its defenders (who are wrong, by the way), the best thing on his plate in the time since has been, what, practically a walk-on role in Milk? And then there was The Darkest Hour a few months back…

Variety reports that Toni Collette, though just starting a shoot on Hitchcock, has grabbed parts in a couple of promising indies. The first (and most prolific) of these would be Miss You Already, a Jennifer Aniston-led dramedy directed by Paul Andrew Williams that we told you about two months ago. Written by the director and Morwenna Banks, Miss You Already revolves around two best friends who need each others support, after one is diagnosed with breast cancer and the other expects the birth of her first child.
Aniston has already been cast in the former role; Collette is lining up to take on the latter, described as “the more reserved of the duo.” An interesting pairing — which is to say they haven’t taken career paths that, realistically, would make me expect said pairing — and this might, in all likelihood, prove to be my main source of interest on Miss You Already.

Toni Collette is deservedly on a roll, adding two more roles to his busy schedule after already booking a gig earlier this week opposite Steve Carell in "The Way, Way Back," the directorial debut for "The Descendants" screenwriters Jim Rash and Nat Faxon. That doesn't mean that the Armored Avenger will also be dead, however, as an all-new Iron Man will be introduced in May's Invincible Iron Man #518. Although the identity behind the armor still remains a mystery, check out the teaser image below, courtesy of Comic Book Resources, with a thanks to Cosmic Book News for the heads-up.
