After Nikki asks Arzt for help in finding their luggage, Paulo says they should have gone to Ethan for help. The scene takes place on Day 24, which is nearly a week after Ethan kidnapped Claire once he had been exposed as a spy.
While Nikki and Paulo are drinking champagne in the airport lounge, Shannon and Boone arrive, arguing. Paulo's full glass suddenly becomes less than half full. As Boone and his sister leave to find somewhere to sit, the glass is almost full again.
In the beginning of the episode, the Zippo lighter goes from unlit to lit between shots.
When Paulo picks up the nicotine gum from the bag, the cover of his passport says "Republica Federativa do Brazil", when the correct text in a Brazilian passport is "República Federativa do Brasil". The word "Brazil" is misspelled in Portuguese, and the word "Republica" is missing an accent.
Nikki is seen exiting a movie/TV soundstage (where the fictional show "Exposé" is being shot) on the harbor foreshore directly opposite the Sydney Opera House. In reality, this prime piece of real estate is the site of Admiralty House, the Sydney residence of the Governor-General of Australia.
In ? (2006) (about 28 minutes in), when the group finds the doors to the Pearl Station, it takes Eko and Locke both to open each of the two doors. When another group returns to the Pearl Station in The Cost of Living (2006), 25 minutes in, Sayid and Desmond repeat the process of opening the doors. In this episode, about 24 minutes in, Paulo has entered the Pearl Station alone to hide the diamonds, he hides as he hears Ben and Juliet enter the station, and Ben comments "Who left [the doors] open?" We must assume that when Ben and Juliet left, they closed the doors behind them, leaving Paulo inside. If it took two people to open the doors from the outside, how do we expect one person standing on a ladder in a vertical shaft to open the doors from the inside?
The spider Nikki had in the glass jar was supposedly given to her by Artzt, the high school teacher. But Artzt died weeks prior. The spider was kept in a jar with a lid and no air. It couldn't have survived for weeks without oxygen.
