In 1943 at the height of World War II one of the most bizarre scientific experiments of all time is believed by many to have taken place in a seaport of the Eastern United States. Desperate to protect Allied shipping from Axis U-Boats, the Navy attempted to make a full-sized destroyer escort invisible to radar. But did the Philadelphia Experiment instead, make it disappear entirely? Even more astonishing, it seems to have skipped, like a rock, across the sea of time, appearing 40 years into the future. Still-living participants tell of the horrors that befell the crew, the science that made it possible and where that science is today.
