Apparently, the Asgard saga was the point when Saint Seiya anime started to lose ratings in Japan. True, it was a "filler, non-canonical" saga, but I personally I think it was a pretty good season. I even prefer some aspects from it to the Poseidon saga (Which honestly feel at moments a bit rushed)
The antagonists were very interesting characters, as most of them weren't typical, flat-villains, but tragic figures instead, with very bitter backstories. (And that kind of stuff was pulled here better than in shows like Naruto, in my opinion) Maybe the plot was a bit streched too much, but personally, I enjoyed those episodes.
And the soundtrack was amazing, even more than usual.
