What did you do to kingpin?!!!!!
cthirlby22 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Episode was going fine and was fun until proper Kingpin scenes started happening! Why is he wearing a hat? Holding a pimp cane? Rings and chains? You messed him up big time and that ending for him was disappointing even if he isn't dead. Nothing like I remember from Daredevil. #fixkingpin and make him more like Daredevil version.

I want a second season for Christmas
Trey_Trebuchet22 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was very entertaining, just like the rest of the season.

I guess I don't quite understand all of the reviews for this finale? Apparently having a big CGI fight at the end of an MCU project is getting old and shouldn't be a thing anymore, but in the case of this finale, which has minimal CGI that isn't too bombastic, it's underwhelming because it's not flashy and exciting enough? See my confusion?

Anyway, I think this episode was almost a perfect season finale. The main plot threads were closed well. I liked the confrontation between Yelena and Clint. It was sad and really well acted on both ends. I thought the last conversation between Kate and her mother was fine too, no issues there.

I personally would have liked some more time with Jack, and I must admit that I did think Wilson Fisk felt very tame compared to the Netflix shows. VDO was great as the character once again and it was nice to see him again after all these years. I know this isn't suppose to be as brutal as the 'hard-R' ratings Daredevil had, but everyone who watched that show knows that Fisk likely would have just killed Kate right then and there instead of throwing her around for several minutes, right? Hopefully he's more amped up in the new Echo show. You don't need blood and violence for him to be a scary, menacing, conniving baddie.

I DID enjoy Echo quite a bit in this season even though this was pretty much just set-up for both her and Fisk. Alaqua Cox turns in a great debut performance too. She's the reason I'm most excited to see more Echo.

I personally thought the action was all fine. Seeing all of the different arrows and seeing our two leads getting pushed around so much was cool. It was hard to tell how unscathed they'd be by the end. That's some great direction in my opinion. Also, it's a small detail, but I love that they're constantly patching themselves up and have bandaids throughout the show. It's a good reminder that yes, they're heroes, but they aren't indestructible!

Overall, I found this to be a perfectly enjoyable, fun season, lead by great leads and a Christmas setting that honestly wasn't as bothersome as I thought it'd be. Renner embodied Hawkeye really well in what's probably his most interesting performance as the character, and Steinfeld was perfect as Kate Bishop.

P. S.: I thought the post credits scene was earned and hilarious. You guys are whist being mean.

Not Really a perfect landing, but still a great fun show
namob-4367322 December 2021
This has been a great ride and a lovely show. By far the best TV of the new Marvel shows and very entertaining. Sadly they did not stick the landing properly.

This last episode do have a lot of things going for it. The action is great, all those trick arrows are so much fun and created a lot of laughs. Yelena VS Kate was amazingly fun to watch. There is also emotions, several great payoffs, an owl and a lovely family ending.

On the negative side the Kingpin cameo and events did not really work with the end shot having me roll my eyes. Kate taking a beating that probably should have killed her actually pissed me off. Only one punch from Kingpin should have knocked her out, but she kept going like this is some kind of cartoon. Yelena VS Clint did not work either with the non-emotional babble about Natasha also getting me to roll my eyes. The never ending track suit mafia henchmen running into arrow after arrow was so much fun, but it also made no sense whatsoever.

I think the main issue I had with this final episode, and the show as a whole, is that it feels rushed. There should have been 1-2 more episodes to build things up properly.

In the end though this was fun. A fun show and a fun finale. I am very happy with this show and I hope it comes back in one form or the other.

Marry Christmas everyone and a happy New Year!

Great Finale!
MamadNobari9722 December 2021
This episode was really great all around and a great finale to a rather enjoyable series. Easily the best one of the season and I think this is my favorite finale of all the marvel shows, maybe on par or even better than Loki's finale.

They did a really good job of giving closure to the storylines, even though I still think it would've been better if they spent more time on them throughout the show.

Kingpin is SCARY! Glad the big boi himself is back and he killed it in this episode!

I didn't expect to have this well-paced back to back action-filled episode and the action in this episode was way better than the whole TFATWS.

I really liked that after 10 years we finally got to see how Hawkeye makes his trick arrows and it was really cool to see.

The action with the trick arrows is amazing and didn't hold back on the variety of the arrows Clint has. Great action scene with his trick arrows.

Hawkeye was always cool, but if even after this show you still think he's a lame member of the Avengers then I'm sorry for you.

The twist with Jack (well it's not technically a twist) was really surprising to me and didn't expect it to go this way.

There was some good emotional scenes with Yelena too and Florence Pugh killed it again.

The ending again kinda felt rushed a little, I think? I can't put my finger on it, but it felt like something didn't get the closure it deserved or it was rushed, but I don't know what it was. At least it wasn't like TFATWS and WandaVision finale. Wanda's finale was great too but I didn't like how she didn't even talk to or say a simple "sorry" to the people she was holding hostage and draining the life out of for months!

And I thought the Hawkeye's suit was kinda underwhelming and it was too dark to notice the details.

All in all a great, fun action-packed episode and overall a good show, don't miss it.

Also, Clint has the coolest wife ever.

fisk in daredevil was much better
MateenHz22 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The problem with mcu is that it can be so childish sometimes for example I absolutely loved Daredevil in Netflix cuz it had alot of violence like true violence, and in this show with the same actor (that is really good) they did it so wrong like wtf he pushed her 3/4 times but he didn't kill her like I expected breaking some bones and real anger u know it's freaking wilson fisk btw.. idk the show was good though but smh it is what it is I guess.

I didn't know what to expect from the series but I am glad I gave it a chance. I like Hawkeye even more than I did before and I really like Kate Bishop's character. Would love to have a season 2.

Fantastic!
cyer3222 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I can't imagine a better ending to this series than this. It's was a helluva passing the torch, and lead in for other events in the MCU. Really really enjoyed it.

And for all the people who left reviews complaining about killing off Kingpin, and how it was bad casting...WHAT?!! First of all, this tells me you didn't watch the Netflix Marvel shows, because D'Onofrio is a perfect Kingpin. And second, did you see Kingpin die? Did a credible coroner pronounce him dead and did we watch his unmistakable body be cremated? Y'all really think they brought him back after Netflix to underutilize one of the greatest comic villains of all time for 1 episode of a miniseries? Come on, now.

Sometimes Family doesn't see eye to eye
solojere22 December 2021
For the most part, this episode of Hawkeye was everything I wanted as Kate Bishop and Clint go head to head with the Tracksuit Mafia and Yelena Belova for the final time. The episode gave both of its central characters a chance to shine. For me, though, the show's real star was Vincent D'Onofrio returning as Wilson Fisk, AKA Kingpin. It was great to see him once again in this iconic role after Daredevil got canceled. I sincerely hope that we get to see more of him in the future. There was one scene that concerned me about the direction this character is heading in, but it seems ambiguous enough that I can overlook it. Overall I really enjoyed this show. I think Hailee is Perfect as Kate Bishop, and I can't wait to see more of her in future MCU Projects. She also has Amazing chemistry with Yelena. Hopefully, we get to see the two again together sometime soon in the near future. It was also great to see Clint get his own story. All in all, I think that this show is pretty close to perfect, and I definitely plan on rewatching it again someday.

Great Ending, Can't wait for season 2
moviesfilmsreviewsinc22 December 2021
Is there a better Christmas gift than a fantastic season finale? Because that's exactly what Hawkeye delivers. Its final hour is the best of the six-episode run, and completely fulfills its promise of festive-flavoured fun with plenty of heart beneath the action-packed wrapping. It also satisfyingly brings Kate and Clint's first story together to a close, and while not every other character gets the same victory, this is a chapter that doesn't leave you wanting for much else beyond a second season. The most important of these individual conflicts, of course, is Clint's, who has spent this entire season quietly battling his grief over Natasha's death. Yelena's insistence on killing him, despite her conversation with Kate and (presumably) a fantastic intelligence network, does feel somewhat contrived. The special whistle moment that interrupts their fight also feels a bit convenient and a little too close to the 'Martha' get-out clause from Batman vs. Superman. But their grief-drenched argument allows Clint to express his regret for not stopping Natasha from sacrificing herself, and voice aloud that she was only able to do that because she was better than him. Clint has never been to therapy, and so just talking about what happened with someone who shares the same kind of love for Natasha seems to be the final step required on his path to healing. Yelena splitting Clint and Kate up means our pint-sized archer must go up against The Kingpin of Crime solo, which is a mismatch for the ages. Vincent D'Onofrio's Fisk is shown to be substantially more powerful than he was in Daredevil, able to send Kate flying with a punch and even tear a car door from its hinges. It raises the question of whether this even is the same Kingpin from the Netflix show, especially with that horrendous dress sense. Regardless, the situation provides a bit of a David and Goliath aspect to the fight, which Kate entertainingly overcomes with smarts rather than brawn. While more from Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk would have been appreciated, he's a suitably large, villainous presence that makes this finale feel high stakes. These components are all threaded together with some of the best action and funniest jokes of not just the season, but this year of Marvel television. In short: the Hawkeye finale is right on target.

Disrespectful
ViejoLK22 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It is disrespectful to treat the Kingpin like this. He's a mob boss, why would he be such an idiot to go fix things on his own? He is not the same intelligent character from Daredevil, who is 100 steps ahead of everyone. He should only get involved in an extreme situation, when he has no more minions. That's why the confrontation with Matt was so satisfying and the confrontation with Kate is so inconsequential. He's obviously not dead, but it all felt too rushed.

The series was good, but what they did with the Kingpin is a lack of respect for the character, the actor and the Daredevil series.

For me, that wasn't Fisk......
shaunnnnn-874-23576926 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Overall, this show was a success. I felt it accomplished what it set out to do. And for me, that was to make Kate the next best thing. However, spoiler ahead, I don't think that was Daredevils Wilson Fisk. Surely that was a fraud....... a kree warrior perhaps. Oh I don't know. Since the multiverse, who can answer these things nowadays. All I know is that Wilson Fisk deserves better. I'm glad the camera panned out. Hopefully Punisher comes back. There's so much opportunity here. Thank God Sony and Marvel made a deal. Keeping us guessing must be so much fun!

Disappointed
imadttje22 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Kingpin was badly written

Could've been better if they cut out most of these cringe jokes

Didn't explain who jack really is, ok he's innocent but why can he fight so good?

Cliche ending

Hawkeye and kate avoiding all those bullets without getting hit?

Kingpin in general is way more stronger and indimidating.

Solid finale that entertains
snoozejonc11 January 2022
Clint and Kate have a confrontation with the Tracksuit Mafia.

This is a fun and enjoyable finish to the series.

There is action and emotion aplenty in the Christmas showdown and most of it is done very well. The humour works well and keeps everything light hearted.

The central action sequence is superbly crafted with strong action that is both exciting and funny. What's not to like about all those trick arrows?

Most of the character arcs resolve in satisfying ways, particularly the two main stars. Some of the more sentimental moments are a bit OTT for my liking, but I am a bit hard-hearted when it comes to things like that.

I think the scenes involving Yelena are hit and miss. I loved all the banter with Kate, plus her contribution to the action comedy is great. However, the conflict with Clint feels a bit forced. We know what happened to Natasha was not Clint's fault and we know they wouldn't risk make her character unpopular by killing Hawkeye, so it all feels a bit of a contrivance to get the character a prominent role. This isn't a big problem as Florence Pugh is excellent once again and very enjoyable to watch.

Vincent D'Onofrio makes a great appearance as Kingpin, but there's only so much you watch someone having various violent attacks an emerging unscathed before it feels repetitive and a bit pointless.

All performances are of a high standard and the production values are top-drawer.

For me it is a 7.5/10 but I round upwards.

Hah! Why didn't Daredevil get Hawk Shot to help him with Fisk?
aarongnr22 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Took Daredevil 3 seasons to take down Kingpin, only took Kate Bishop 1 day. Amazing! Very earned!

Anyway, it was a pretty entertaining episode, definitely the best of the season, mainly because there wasn't much dialogue. Enjoyable show overall, but nothing I'm gonna remember in a months.

Happy holidays :)

Best 2021 Marvel Disney+ Finale
ThetaProtocol22 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This was such a great episode. Didn't feel rushed like the others, buuuuttttt.....

Surely they didn't kill Kingpin. I think they left intentionally ambiguous, but if that's the last that we see of this character, I will not be happy. Also a super disappointing post credits.

Why?
AfricanBro24 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I've stopped midway through the episode because how did they expect us to be okay with that arrow shrinking the truck scene? I've seen the antman technology in the MCU of course, but that looked so cartoonish. Then an owl picking it up? The only reasons I've made it this far watching is I like Florence Pugh and the potential implications the events of Hawkeye might have in future marvel movies, the same way Loki and wondavision did or will, but I'll be greatly disappointed if what we got from Hawkeye spills over into the movies coming out because it's immensely underwhelming by mcu standards.

Loved It
tristan_1922 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I absolutely loved this episode. It was a rush from beginning to end.

Now... There is a reason they didn't show a dead body. If they wanted to make it final and really impactful, they would've shown Fisk dying and Maya's reaction. I believe we will see Kingpin again.

Kate Bishop is a highlight in this episode. Her reaction to Eleanor's activities is so genuine and heartfelt. She then has to fight like never before, going against both Kingpin and Yelena, while experiencing all these complex emotions.

Yelena's story is also quite compelling, and she does finally have a talk with Clint, who goes back home on time for Christmas.

If not perfect, this episode is entertaining and fun, and you can just relax and have fun, while watching it. The tension is there, so is the heart and the action. The characters are also interesting, even though I would have loved to see a couple more episodes to flesh everything out more.

The Big Guy is here!
GomezAddams66623 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is one of the many reasons why people flock to Marvel properties, Marvel Studios knows exactly what the fandom wants, and re-introducing the amazing Vincent D'Onofrio as the MCU's Kingpin was a great Christmas present for us.

D'Onofrio shines as Wilson Fisk, and the main protagonists of the story are not left behind, Hailee Steinfeld holds her own in comparison to Renner, they make an incredible duo, and the minor players like Florence Pugh and Alaqua Cox brought on their A-Game as well.

This episode, and more so this series had a lot to accomplish as a passing of the torch arc for Kate Bishop while respecting Clint Barton who has been wanting to retire since Age of Ultron, and did it so spectacularly well.

I can praise this series all day, enjoying it is truly the most wonderful time of the year. In Marvel We Trust.

CAN MCU FOR ONCE NOT RUIN A CHARACTER FROM A DIFFERENT MEDIA
tparpith22 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The character assassination of kingpin in this show is outright horrendous. He used to be the most threatening marvel villain but here he's extremely watered down, and was almost treated as a big dumb guy, completely out of his character for anyone who's seen the Netflix show, which is 100 times better than whatever average show Disney pulls out.

Solid finale but I'm worried
imptsir22 December 2021
Yo, why did they do Kingpin like that? I mean Kingpin was there taking all the blows thrown at him, we saw him at peak strength but still. And that final shot with Kingpin in it, man I am so worried rn. Please Marvel, you can't just do that after putting all these efforts in bringing him back. Boy, do i have my fingers crossed rn. Also no post credits scene leaves ypu wondering where would they go from here!
