This esposide was pretty good

This episode pretty good. The boys want to run a business but Scrooge says no a sort time late when he ends up in the hospital and they answer his private business line and begin running his businesses .The only thing that really bothered me about this espoide is that Bubba was in it showing that all the male children were able to run Scrooge businesses yet the female Child Webby who had been with the family longer wasn't capable as she is missing from the espoide .You also notice all the people who work for Scrooge who are in charge are men.It goes back to why Scrooge never just adopted this child and make her part of the family .Well anyway the boys do OK at first when they start messing up and Scrooge starts loosing money they find out they can't run a business cause they are not old enough yet.Didn't someone in Scrooge businesses know this and stop it before. The episode was OK not one of Ducktales best but seemed to be a bit entertaining and made some cute jokes.

'Ducktales' misfires
TheLittleSongbird29 November 2019
'Ducktales' is a great show, one of my personal favourites. Am going to hesitate though in saying that it is perfect or exempt from disappointment, it isn't and there are very few shows that doesn't have at least one episode that doesn't work. There are some classic episodes. There are also ones ranging from decent to very good. There are episodes that are watchable enough but underwhelm. The show sadly is not without its misfires, all in the latter seasons.

As much as it pains me to say it, "Yuppy Ducks" is one of those misfires and has always as a child considered it one of my least favourite episodes. Never did find it particularly funny or interesting and found the nephews uncharacteristically irritating. Feel exactly the same as an adult and have found myself having other problems with the episode too. It's not unwatchable and it is good to have a latter season episode to not be Bubba or Fenton Crackshell-centric, it is just not particularly good, more mediocre, and the good things are only sporadic.

Will start off with the good things. The animation is generally as lively and colourful as usual despite some glaring animation errors, never really had much of a problem with the animation up to this point of the show, other than the Cockatrice character in "Bubba's Big Brainstorm" (another 'Ducktales' misfire) and some sloppiness in "Beaglemania". The music fits with no problem, always appropriately placed and orchestrated beautifully and cleverly. The theme song is timeless. The opening is promising.

The voice acting is fine, that is another component that has seldom been a problem. Despite disliking the nephews intensely here, the fault does not lie with Russi Taylor who makes a good stab with what she was given. There are vaguely amusing moments here and there, like the dialogue between Scrooge and Von Swine and the kooky character of Von Swine.

"Yuppy Ducks" just suffers from a story that doesn't really ignite pace-wise with a mailing-in vibe, is thin (parts seemed there just to pad it out) and becomes ridiculous in places, just didn't buy everything to do with the nephews in business mode. Don't think there is a dumber denouement in the whole of 'Ducktales' than the one here, and the whole premise just didn't seem plausible or make much sense. The cancel every deal chaos is just stick-out-like-a-sore-thumb idiotic. The humour is too far and between and is not very funny mostly, with some very corny and less than smart dialogue that is (relatively) uncharacteristically childish for 'Ducktales'.

Bubba appears and he serves absolutely no purpose whatsoever, he could have been cut out easily and nobody would really notice that much. Love the Beagles, but their presence was unnecessary as well and felt like filler. What particularly dooms "Yuppy Ducks" is the characterisation of the nephews, they are not just annoying here (at their most annoying, more so than "Bubba's Big Brainstorm") but rather insufferable. Their egos, their negative treatment of other characters, hypocrisy and dictatorial attitudes were a real turn off and the splitting up was completely out of character.

Summing, disappointingly mediocre. 4/10

The episode was OK

I two think that Webby missing was sad thing. The writers never placed her in to many episodes yet she was voiced by the same person who did HDL .I always wished they would let her and Scrooge do private episode where Scrooge takes her to a father/daughter dance or something where uncle and niece bond in some way but that was never the case. The attitude that men were in charge and women did the house work is one reason this show only lasted 3 seasons.I personally thought this episode was boring it a few cute jokes .Bubba was there but he just seem to be following the boys around and it seem there was no real reason for him to there in the first place.
