The Best That Happened To The Purge
JoeMcRhee7 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I'm not afraid to say it: this season, so far, is the best that has ever happened to The Purge Franchise. This season doesn't only provide interesting characters and plot lines but also covers the biggest plot holes of the entire series. Why does everyone stop purging after the sirens? Because there's a whole agency behind it that seeks after scapegoats to show everyone how it's crucial to follow the rules. How it come that there are almost no crimes thanks to the Purge? Well, it's because there are crimes and the government just covers them because they need the Purge night for other purposes and so on. The second season also expands the universe, showing us what happens for the rest of the year along with customs and traditions that appeared in the world where each year, all crimes are legal during 12 hours.

I really hope the rest of the season holds up.

The expanding universe
Rob-O-Cop8 November 2019
Another excellent installment in the purge universe. As Joe notes, fleshing out the details and filling in the plot holes to explain how a seemingly mad concept can have wings. I'm still good to not have an endless stream of people's brains bashed out in front of my face and the TV franchise is smart to keep that to a minimum and focus on the intriguing plot details and world parallels. I particularly liked the fleshing out of how citizens feel about living in this world, and even how the purgers get into their mind set. Nothing is simple and nothing is black and white, just like in real life. You can feel that the writers have put a lot of thought into this and its a great feeling to feel that you're being given someone's best effort to not only entertain but capture your imagination, and give you smarts to go along with thrills. so it's 4 for four this season.
