Francia Raísa isn't talking about her relationship with Selena Gomez. While on a walk on April 30, a photographer asked the actor about the status of their friendship, but Raísa deflected the questions entirely. In the video shared by TMZ, in response to a question about their current relationship, the "How I Met Your Father" star simply said, "Sunday is so fun . . . I'm Francia, I'm hanging out with my dog," and went on to avoid further inquiries. She did, however, eventually respond to one question about whether she would consider donating a kidney again. "I would definitely speak to someone again about organ donation and the process," she said.
In 2017, Raísa donated her organ to longtime friend Gomez, whose ongoing struggles with lupus led to her needing a kidney replacement. Gomez consistently thanked Raísa on social media and in interviews in the years after that - but in November 2022, rumors of...

Almost six years after she received a life-saving kidney donation from "How I Met Your Father" actor Francia Raísa, Selena Gomez paid tribute to her friend in the March 10 episode of Apple TV+'s "Dear . . ." series. The "Calm Down" singer not only thanked Raísa for her decision to be a donor, but also called the actor her "best friend."
"My best friend. Her name is Francia. She said, 'No, I am absolutely getting tested,'" Gomez said in the episode. "And within three days, she went to get tested, and she was a match. And it was one of those moments where I felt watched over. I know I was so so so lucky."
An emotional Gomez continued, "I will never ever, ever be more in debt to a person than Francia. The idea of someone not even second-guessing to be a donor was unbelievably overwhelming. I know I was so,...

Selena Gomez is celebrating her best friend, Francia Raisa.
While speaking on the latest episode of her Apple TV+ documentary series, “Dear …“, the 30-year-old praised Raisa for donating a life-saving kidney transplant to the superstar in 2017 while struggling with lupus health complications.

“My best friend. Her name is Francia. She said, ‘No, I am absolutely getting tested,'” reflected Gomez as she spoke about her trials and tribulations with the autoimmune disease. “And within three days, she went to get tested, and she was a match. And it was one of those moments where I felt watched over. I know I was so so so lucky.”
Controversy arose from the star’s comments last year when she claimed that Taylor Swift was her “only friend in the industry” despite the kidney donation from her “Grown-ish” friend Raisa.

There are many Beatles songs that John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison based on real people. Around the mid-1960s, when their songwriting became more complex, they started incorporating characters and stories into their songs. Real people helped develop those characters and stories. Here are the top 13 Beatles songs based on real people.

Paul McCartney wrote “And I Love Her” after he realized he wanted to tell his then-girlfriend, Jane Asher, he loved her. Paul and Asher dated for most of The Beatles’ lifetime. However, their romance fizzled out toward the end of the 1960s, and Asher broke up with the singer-songwriter on live TV. Paul based many Beatles songs on Asher.

The four members of The Beatles remained close, even after the band split up in 1970. Tensions between a few members were high, leading to some public feuds, but they all made amends at some point. A few of Paul McCartney’s songs are directed at John Lennon, even if the lyrics don’t directly reference him.

“Dear Friend” is the closing track of Wings’ 1971 album Wild Life. Paul McCartney wrote the song in response to John Lennon, who had previously called him out in songs and other public messages. This was McCartney’s attempt to call a truce and return to being friends. In an interview with his website, the “Let it Be” singer says the song makes him emotional since it was his way of speaking with Lennon.

“Dear Edward” is the sort of show that makes you understand why the great middle — the set of works that don’t feature aliens or superheroes, and that are intended for grown-up audiences — has fallen out of the theatrical moviegoing business. That’s because in any era other than this one, this smart but unshapely literary adaptation, full of good intentions and interesting characters but bloated beyond recognition at 10 hours, would have been a comparatively lithe movie.
Taken in the form Apple TV+ has provided us via show creator Jason Katims, though, “Dear Edward” is a bit of a mess — a jumble of semi-intersecting characters whom we meet for long enough to learn more detail about their lives than is strictly necessary, but who blink out of focus when it comes to holding our sympathy. Based on Ann Napolitano’s bestseller, “Dear Edward” has a novelist’s ambition but not the requisite gift for structure.

‘Dear Evan Hansen’ Waves Goodbye To Broadway With Sell-Out Week; Broadway’s 24 Productions Gross 25M
A slate of four new productions and renewed interest in a couple of old ones pushed Broadway box office up by 20 last week, with total receipts for the 24 shows reaching 24,954,517 and attendance climbing 14 to 201,321 for the week ending September 18.
Among the newcomers: Death of a Salesman, 1776, Cost of Living and Tom Stoppard’s Leopoldstadt. Waving goodbye was Dear Evan Hansen and announcing its upcoming departure was The Phantom of the Opera.
First, Hansen. The musical closed September 18, selling out for its final week and grossing a big 1,251,593. A run that began November 14, 2016, ended after having played 1,678 performances. It won the Tony for Best Musical.
And while it was too soon to see much of the Phantom hubbub on the week’s chart — the musical announced its February 18 closing on Friday, bringing an imminent end to 35 years of music of the night — the production saw a noticeable uptick in receipts: 964,172, up 96,175 from the previous week.

Every year, when covering TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival), I take the train from Montreal to Toronto as sort of a pre-fest ritual. Sure, flying would be quicker, but I like to spend the time on the train planning my coverage of the fest. On the train this year, something occurred to me – this is my 14th year in a row covering the festival. Since 2009, I’ve been making my way to the festival to cover all of the best fall movies showcased, with 2020’s edition being a bit of a bummer as it was a stay-home version due to the pandemic, while 2021’s was a hybrid (I was here – but it just wasn’t the same).
This year is being pegged as the fest’s grand return to the scale it was at in pre-pandemic years, and sure enough, it’s boasting a killer line-up of awards contenders, curios and crowdpleasers.

Most of the 21 Broadway productions on the boards last week showed some signs of summer doldrums, with 17 shows reporting drops in box office over the previous week. Still, with The Music Man back on the roster after a week’s hiatus, the overall total box office take of 23,513,592 was up about 6.
Total attendance for the week ending Aug. 28 was 186,077, about 2 more than the previous week.
Returning from its scheduled, weeklong hiatus, The Music Man, starring Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster, grossed a big 2,716,507, filling 94 of its seats.
Other top earners for the week – each scoring at least 1 million in box office receipts – were Hamilton, The Lion King, Mj, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Wicked, Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Aladdin, Dear Evan Hansen and Six. Into The Woods pulled in 1,616,557, a drop of about 22 from the previous week due to it being the first week of the production’s extension...

Broadway box office drooped in the final, sun-baked weeks before the Fall arrivals of new shows, with the roster of productions down to 20 last week and total box office slipping 19 from the previous week to 22,232,527.
Attendance was down about 15 to 181,785, roughly commensurate with the lesser number of productions (down from 23 the week prior). Also contributing to the drop: The Music Man was on a scheduled hiatus and played no performances during the week ending Aug. 21. (Potus and Tina – The Tina Turner Musical had closed on Aug. 14).
Still, the sturdiest of the shows remained at peak performance, with Hamilton, Into The Woods, Mj, The Lion King and Dear Evan Hansen filling all their seats.
Coming close to sell-out, with 90 or more seats filled, were Aladdin, Hadestown, Moulin Rouge!
