Red Handed

Warning: Spoilers
Glad to have this show back, but not a promising start to the season. The action sequence at the house was goofy, more funny than eventful really.

One Helluva Way To Open Season 5
silas-dunn12 July 2021
This might be the best season opener in the entire show. After two years off, this episode surpassed all my hope and expectations. Easily the most brutal and visceral episode of the entire series.

Here's to an incredible start for season five.

Great Start to Season Only One Problem

Warning: Spoilers
I liked how to start the season it really just focuses on the boys no outside relationships and their conflict with the cousins carrying over from the previous season. The smurf flashbacks still feel a little filler and unnecessary but they at least feel more interesting now that we got pope as kid. The only problem I had was that they released a sneak peek and the sneak peek was 85% of this episode. So I already saw pretty much all of it a week ago. Other than that it was a very good episode potentially ending the conflict with the cousins but still leaving the door open by Pope letting one of them go at the end. Overall Great action filled episode gives this season a strong start. Looking forward to how relationships develop throughout the season especially with J and Pope and also J and Derran.

Fantastic opener to season 5, don't listen to the crybaby's
nickventura-9889622 April 2023
Normally I'd give this an 8, but it looks the crybaby's wants to be as unrealistic as they're claiming the episode to be, and giving 2/10's because they don't like cool stuff, so I will balance their fraudulent scores out with a 10/10. I don't want to give too much away about the episode, but I will say it was one of my personal favorites. I find it hilarious how people can so easily complain over the smallest of issues. One thing I can get behind is the flashbacks feeling somewhat unnecessary and filler-like, but even those were entertaining in this episode. We get to see Julia and Andrew more grown up and I think it's definitely interesting. As for the other stuff in this episode the little boys are complaining about it funny to me. Nothing pleases these weirdos. Easily a top 5 episode in the show so far. Very cool to see the first real episode without Smurf, and how the guys will have to adapt.

Final score: 8.7/10.

Flashbacks are the worst

Terrible flashbacks and ridiculous shoot outs. Probably didn't need this season.

Warning: Spoilers
I kept waiting for Tom Petty to start the song. This series used to have dialogue, and real human connections, and drama. Had there not been previous seasons that established a certain momentum, this Episode would have been laughable. 4 guys moodily staring, getting into jeeps, and getting out of jeeps. The shoot-out went on and on, and honestly - I could not tell a flipping thing of what was happening. Assumed it was the cousins, and knew that no matter what, Nik Stahl was going to stay alive.

It actually took me a while to realize that plot 2 was flashbacks. Fashion-wise, and over all ambiance was contemporary. A good idea to dig into Pope as a kid, but wasted.

And one item: if you're going to write cigarettes into story, then at least have the actors smoke them.

Awful start to season 5
jamesjump13 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I love animal kingdom, from the first movie from Australia, to the American series, but this episode was just so clichéd and, just awful... It was forced in parts, and the acting was sub-par at best. Then, the ending was the absolute worst. Not only does pope let his cousin go(who just tried to murder pope and his brothers in cold blood, after they gave back the gold), but he also knows where pope buried his brother's, because pope made him dig the hole!

Give me a break! It is just so unrealistic, and uncharacteristic compared to the cold professionalism the Cody's have always shown in every other heist... And everyone is giving this episode 9's and 10's? Really guys? There's only 2 other people who agreed with me that this episode was a crock of crap from start to finish??? Please...

Cool opening but too predictable

Warning: Spoilers
Episode story moves fast and with the ending situation approaching you already know how it's going to end simply because nick stahl is suddenly now part of that group and did not die at the house. So that was a major buzzkill. They're not going to put one of the John conners in a single episode. Cheesy bs.
