- President Allison Taylor: You resigned from government service and the Senate regards you as having been a renegade agent. How am I supposed to know where your loyalties really lie?
- Jack Bauer: With all due respect Madame President, ask around.
- Jack Bauer: When are you gonna stop thinking everyone else is following your rules? They're not. Dubaku is gonna kill Henry Taylor within the next 45 minutes unless we find him. You've got one of two choices. You can either phone the president and explain to her that your conscience won't allow you to do what is necessary to save him, or you could simply do what is necessary. Pick one!
- [after accidentally killing a suspect and realizing his car broke down in a crash before]
- Jack Bauer: Damn it!
- President Allison Taylor: [Over the speakerphone, as Jack, Bill, and Renee stand close by] this is President Taylor
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: I'll come straight to the point madam President, I have your husband: let me demonstrate
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: [to Henry as he holds the phone near his face] say something
- Henry Taylor: Alison...
- President Allison Taylor: [Nervously] Henry, are you alright?
- Henry Taylor: I'm fine, I'm sorry about this. For God's sake, don't let them "use" me to influence you in any way
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: [after taking the phone away from Henry] my demands are as follows: you will have your forces withdraw from around my country of Sangala immediately and permanently. Also, Matobo must be delivered to my men who will be stationed at the east lot of Stanswick Power Plant. If his not there by 4 o'clock, or if anybody attempts to follow my men when they leave the plant, your husband will die a slow and sudden death
- President Allison Taylor: [Angrily] you wouldn't dare
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: [to his henchmen, referring to Henry] cut off his finger
- President Allison Taylor: [after sitting down, to Jack, Bill, and Renee] I want an explanation and I want it now: what the hell is going on?
- Jack Bauer: Madam President, six weeks ago Bill Buchanan discovered that key members of your government were working with General Juma and Colonel Dubaku in an effort to undermine this nation's foreign policy. Your foreign policy with regards to Sangala
- President Allison Taylor: You realize that is an outrageous accusation?
- Jack Bauer: Yes ma'am, unfortunately it's the truth. It explains that during this crisis, every effort you've made to stop Dubaku failed
- President Allison Taylor: Bill, why didn't you come to me?
- Bill Buchanan: I didn't know who I could trust or if you'd even believe me: so I formed a small group to locate and "neutralize" Dubaku. Tony Almeida and ultimately Jack joined me
- President Allison Taylor: Tony Almeida was the one who put the CIP device in Dubaku's hands in the first place
- Bill Buchanan: Using the CIP device as "bait" was necessary to the undercover operation, we had to follow it back to Dubaku
- President Allison Taylor: [Raises her voice] a lot of people died on those planes: never mind what could've happened at the chemical plant in Kidron
- Renee Walker: Madam President, if I may, I was part of the FBI taskforce assigned to recover the CIP device, and I can personally "vouch" for what they're telling you. The loss of life was tragic yes but in my opinion "everything" these men have done saved the lives of thousands
- President Allison Taylor: If I "choose" to "believe" everything you're telling me, where would you go from here?
- Jack Bauer: Dubaku is the only person with the names of the people who betrayed you within your government, its imperative we find him. We would have to work "under the radar." Any word of an investigation, people will start running for cover
- Ethan Kanin: [to Jack] you're saying we can't even involve the FBI or Homeland?
- Jack Bauer: Yes sir, that's correct
- Renee Walker: [Over the phone] I'm alive but you can't let anyone know: do you understand me?
- Larry Moss: [Shocked] my God, where are you? Are you alright?
- Renee Walker: I'm fine. I'll explain later but right now we need your help
- Larry Moss: Whose "we"?
- Renee Walker: Myself and Jack Bauer
- Larry Moss: What?
- Renee Walker: He's on our side, just like he said. Everything he did was to preserve his "cover"
- Larry Moss: All this time, I've been thinking you were dead, why didn't you tell me?
- Renee Walker: The Bureau is "compromised", just like he said and no one there can know about this "operation." It has to stay completely "off book"
- Larry Moss: What "operation?"
- Renee Walker: Jack and I are at the White House: the First Gentlemen's been kidnapped by Iké Dubaku
- Larry Moss: [Confused] I don't know anything about that
- Renee Walker: It's true. The President's asked Jack and me to find him, very few people know about this and that's the way it has to stay. If we don't find him by 4pm, he'll be killed. If you ever "trusted" me, "trust" me now. Please help me
- Larry Moss: What do you want me to do?
- Renee Walker: Looks like the First Gentlemen's Secret Service was involved in all of this: Brian Gedge, his dead, you need to check his phone logs, and go through all the information you can who he's been in contact recently
- Larry Moss: I need to see you, make sure this is real, that you're not under duress
- Renee Walker: [Sternly] there's no time for that
- Larry Moss: That's not negotiable, you want my help? We meet, Capitol Reflecting Pool, as soon as you can get there
- Renee Walker: [Before hanging up] ok, bye
- Bill Buchanan: [Briefing Secret Service Agents] the goal is to make it "look" like we're going to "hand" Matobo over for as long as "reasonably" possible. When you get to the rendezvous point, keep your distance from Dubaku's men: let them see you in the back seat but don't get out of the car, don't let them get any closer than you feel "comfortable" with. As soon as you feel like the risk is "unacceptable", get the hell out, that's straight from the President, clear?
- Ethan Kanin: [to Taylor while in the Oval Office] we can "appear" to comply with the first part of Dubaku's demand by pulling the fleet back: then we simply launch the invasion from further out at sea. Now the second part of his demand is more "complicated." If we were really turning Matobo over, we'd be putting him in a car ride right about now
- President Allison Taylor: That's out of the question, we need him saved
- Bill Buchanan: Agreed but we can send a car with a lookalike. If we handle it "right", Dubaku won't know the deception until last minute
- Ethan Kanin: By then, "hopefully", we will have found Henry. Madam President, do we have your authorization to proceed?
- President Allison Taylor: [after thinking it over, before Bill and Ethan leave] yes
- Jack Bauer: [Over the phone] I got an address for Henry Taylor, 12451 Arlington Avenue, it's a store front: his being held in the basement. If you get there before I do, I want you to stand down: Dubaku's got at least four gunmen in there
- Renee Walker: Alright
- Jack Bauer: Meanwhile, I'm going to call Bill, get him up to speed, you do the same with Larry
- Renee Walker: What about Vossler?
- Jack Bauer: His dead, he attacked me, I didn't have a choice. You ok?
- Renee Walker: [after seeing Vossler's wife and child scared] no, I don't think I am
- Jack Bauer: What'd you mean? What's wrong?
- Renee Walker: I'm not...
- Jack Bauer: [after she doesn't respond] are you still there?
- Renee Walker: I'm not...
- Jack Bauer: Listen to me, we could not have got this far if it wasn't for you ok? No one would blame you if this was just too much for you to handle. Maybe you should get out?
- Renee Walker: Maybe I will
- Larry Moss: [over the phone] where are you?
- Renee Walker: I'm on my way to where we think where Henry Taylor is being held
- Larry Moss: So you got Vossler to talk?
- Renee Walker: He gave us the only chance we have to rescue the President's husband
- Larry Moss: What's the address? I'll send a SWAT team to meet you
- Renee Walker: You know you can't do that: the Bureau's compromised, it'll jeopardize any attempt that we make. There is something else that I needed you to do
- Larry Moss: What's that?
- Renee Walker: Keep an incident, quiet just until what Jack and I are doing goes down
- Larry Moss: What incident?
- Renee Walker: Vossler's dead: Jack killed him at the hotel on 18th and Lincoln: it was self defense
- Larry Moss: Is that what he told you?
- Renee Walker: Larry...
- Larry Moss: Damn it what the hell are you doing with this guy? We're suppose to bring suspects in: not murder them
- Renee Walker: Larry please, and we know who Dubaku's source is there, you've got to handle this outside of the Bureau ok?
- Larry Moss: There's a guy in DC Metro I know I can trust, I'll have him deal with Vossler
- Renee Walker: [before hanging up] thank you
- Henry Taylor: [after being kidnapped] you son of a bitch: you're the one behind my son's death
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: He was poking his nose where it doesn't belong
- Henry Taylor: You'll never get away with this, you know that, everyone in this city will be looking for me
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: You should be "concerned" with just one question: does your wife love you enough to call off the invasion of my country? For your sake, I hope the answer is "yes"
- President Allison Taylor: [Addressing the nation] we can confirm at this point, the tragedies that unfolded over the skies of Washington and Kidron Ohio were indeed acts of terrorists but I am here to assure you that those who are responsible are no longer a threat to our country: their "attempts" to stop us from "intervening" in the Sangala genocide have failed, we will not give in to terrorists. A short time ago, I gave the order for our troops to begin operations that will liberate the people of Sangala and that democracy will be restored under the leadership of Prime Minister Ule Matobo. Under his leadership, we are "confident" the Juma regime will collapse. Our law enforcement agencies will hunt down the people responsible and bring them to justice. I ask you now for your thoughts and prayers go to those who lost their lives today, to their families, their loved ones, and to our troops for putting their lives on the line in the name of freedom: thank you and good afternoon
- Ethan Kanin: [after she addresses the nation] Matobo's arrived: he and the others have been brought in secretly through the underground entrance by agents I personally know and trust
- President Allison Taylor: Matobo told me these people bringing him in are responsible for saving his life and recovering the CIP device. Who are they?
- Ethan Kanin: Bill Buchanan whom I believe you've met when he headed up CTU LA, an FBI Agent named Renee Walker, and Jack Bauer
- President Allison Taylor: Bauer? He was one of Matobo's kidnappers, it doesn't make sense
- Ethan Kanin: I know
- President Allison Taylor: Matobo asked me to "listen" to what they have to say and I'm willing to do so: send them in
- President Allison Taylor: [after greeting him in the Oval Office by kissing both his cheeks] I can't begin to tell you how thankful we are that you and Alama are safe
- Ule Matobo: Thank you, she's with Mr. Buchanan's people now: recovering
- President Allison Taylor: But you were subjected to such an ordeal on our soil is a source of shame to me personally and to my country
- Ule Matobo: Madam President, on the behalf of my chief counsel in Sangala and myself, may I ask what your timetable is for the invasion?
- President Allison Taylor: I've issued the order to our military to proceed
- Ule Matobo: I thank you with all my heart
- Ule Matobo: [Gesturing to Jack, Bill, and Renee who are standing nearby] what you're doing may be a greater risk if you charge these people on what they have done for your country
- President Allison Taylor: Forgive me Prime Minister but I'm finding that hard to believe
- Ule Matobo: I assure you none of this is as it seems but they have to explain themselves. Now if you'll excuse me Madam President, I must meet with my people to discuss post invasion plans
- Jack Bauer: [Formulating their plan to rescue Henry Taylor] we'll start with Agent Gedge: we need access to his phone records, I want to know who he's been talking to over the last few hours. Obviously, we can't use any of the President's security people
- Renee Walker: Phone logs are highly classified: especially Agents assigned to the First Family. Can Chloe O'Brian get access?
- Jack Bauer: Faster than somebody who already has clearance
- Renee Walker: Larry Moss
- Jack Bauer: He doesn't strike me as someone wiling to work "outside the system"
- Renee Walker: That's true but I think I can "persuade" him to do what we need
- Jack Bauer: You really trust him?
- Renee Walker: Yes, we know each other pretty well
- Jack Bauer: Fine, try him: we don't have much time
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: [Over the phone] hey, I thought you'd be at work? What are you doing home?
- Marika Donoso: I was, Rosa called me at the diner: she was having one of her "episodes"
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: You know your sister is just manipulating you. You don't have to go to her every time she calls
- Marika Donoso: I'm all she has, be kind
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: Your "kind" enough for both of us
- Marika Donoso: I just wanted to make sure your still coming to dinner tonight?
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: Look, I'm really sorry but I can't. I'm looking at a stack of shipping manifests
- Marika Donoso: Oh no, is there some way? We can do it as late as you want?
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: I wish I could, I'm really sorry, I wish there was. I'll make it up to you ok?
- Marika Donoso: Ok, I'll just make extra in case you change your mind
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: You're too good to me
- Marika Donoso: [Before hanging up] your right
- Marika Donoso: I have to get back to the diner: are you going to be ok?
- Rosa Donoso: [Referring to Dubaku, posing as "Samuel"] who was that on the phone? It was "him" wasn't it?
- Marika Donoso: Alright, stop. I know you don't "approve" of Samuel but I love him
- Rosa Donoso: You love him? Why? Because he spends money on you? Because he pays our rent? You've only "known" him for only a month
- Marika Donoso: What difference does that make?
- Rosa Donoso: You don't know anything about him, what if his not the importer he says he is? Or that he's in this country illegally?
- Marika Donoso: [Irritated] oh, not "this" again
- Rosa Donoso: I'm just trying to protect you
- Marika Donoso: [Sternly] I don't need your protection
- Rosa Donoso: Yes you do: this man isn't...
- Marika Donoso: Isn't what?
- Rosa Donoso: Nothing, forget it
- Marika Donoso: I'm sorry, I don't have time for this. I'll be home after my shift
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: [Over the phone] if you're looking for Marika, she's not with me
- Rosa Donoso: I'm looking for you "Samuel", or whatever your "real" name is
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: What're you talking about?
- Rosa Donoso: My sister maybe naïve but I'm not. I checked with someone I know at Immigration Services and no one named "Samuel Aboa" immigrated from Sangala in the last year or in the last fifteen years
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: Well, obviously their making a "mistake"
- Rosa Donoso: You're making a "mistake." Now I don't know who you really are and I don't care. I just want you out of my sister's life
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: Does Marika know about this?
- Rosa Donoso: No, not yet and I'm willing to keep it that way
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: So you've not reported to me to anyone?
- Rosa Donoso: No, I don't want Marika to know anything about this
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: What do you want?
- Rosa Donoso: [Before hanging up] break up with her and "this" stays between us: you just end it tonight and we won't have a "problem"
