The Watch seemed to have found its stride. However it does make me think to get this far by the fourth episode that the show has been padded.

Vimes is in search of a sword that can control the dragon. Jocasta Wiggs who stole the sword now lives in a retirement home and her memory is gone.

Carcer also makes his way to the retirement home. Only to find that the home has a security system that makes a song and dance when it comes to violence.

The episode had a theme about love. It can even unlock memories.

Having a Wham song out of nowhere was jarring but it also makes The Watch offbeat fun.

With this episode, the series properly comes into its own. If it can carry off this level of epic comedy, fantasy noir lounge singing and interpersonal relationship and character development, all while advancing the plot in the most entertaining of ways, then we have ALL prejudged this series too early, for this particular episode is a bright star in a dark sky. I won't spoil it for you, but if you want to start with this episode, THEN go back to the 1st and watch them in order, you'll already have enough love in your heart to hear the sword speak. There are so many beautiful and haunting scenes in this, you will need to rewatch this a few times.

This chapter was the best so far. The story progresses, the humor is really Pratchett and there are emotional, beautiful moments. I still don't like some of the portrayals, as characters are different than in the books, but once you accept these versions of those characters, you begin liking them. This episode is a pleasure to watch.
