He played the character in three feature films - HOUSE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1944) and HOUSE OF DRACULA (1945) with makeup by Jack Pierce, and ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN (1948) with Pierce's makeup duplicated by Jack Kevan. He also played the character for Colgate Comedy Hour's Abbott and Costello 1954 TV appearance, in which Universal Studios first publicly debuted the Gill-Man from their forthcoming film THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON (available on the DVD, CREATURE FEATURE: 50 YEARS OF THE GILL-MAN by Sam Borowski and Matt Crick).
