I must admit being rather concerned when I first started watching this. The music at the start was awful and not up to the standard GITYS standard. The 3D is average, at best, and possibly awful. Because the first episode is mainly set in daylight, the 3D is really noticeable. However all these factors are not that important, as what really matters are the feel and the story. The characters all gel reasonably well, Bato is a bit too gung-ho and Kusanagi does say some things which don't make much sense, but generally its good. The voices all sound correct, although I would like to also watch the Japanese version as well. As for the story, episode one is setting things up and in that it only does a partial job. As a result there is not that much story, but what exists is good. The action sense is acceptable, but certainly not great. We see Aramaki and Togusa back in japan, so there is some pull concerning what may occur. This episode is acceptable and I want to watch episode two, but unlike the earlier series its not a great episode one. One real upside point is the end music is good.
