Jeez this was fun
dgatimdb13 November 2019
I enjoy this series enough to keep watching it, but this Guy-Richie-esque episode was absolutely delightful. The story and dialogue kept me laughing, and for reasons I don't understand, I usually find Vinnie Jones and Valentine entertaining, no matter what roles they're playing.

A Surprisingly Entertaining Episode
afg-906585 November 2019
I loved the beginning of the show where the labels list their locations. Also, loved the definitions given for British words. The storyline was interesting and hooked you from the beginning!!!

A Fun Hostage Episode
movies-1094 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I guess all of the hate has to do with the accents - real and fake. I found them a bit annoying but the finale is a pretty good payoff. It's how any hostage situation should end. I actually really despise people who take hostages - they are cowards and deserve what they get. In this case, it was a bloody brilliant plan. I enjoyed it more than some of the more violent torture stories and I'm about as sick of Afghanistan as most of the rest of the world is. So this is the first episode in season 11 I've been compelled to review, if for no other reason than to counter all the nasty reviews. To put things in perspective I've also been watching vintage (original) episodes of Mission: Impossible. Virtually every story is impossible or implausible - that's the theme of the show. I still enjoy it.

Awful British accents
debs-957815 February 2020
Why are brits portrayed as very posh or cockneys? I cringe whenever I watch us shown like this. It takes away from the enjoyment of a programme as you're so focused on the bad accent.

Cockney Jack the Lads ..... 'aving a larff
alanfield-7376512 November 2019
I really do not understand why the US series makers believe that English criminals all speak with cockney accents. The actual fact is that cockneys are just big headed idiots, and unfortunately that whole persona takes over this rather poor episode with rather devastating effect ..... the addition of Vinnie Jones just adds to the misery ....... sorry but this episode is nothing short of being pathetic and condescending to the rest of the UK.

Absolutely shocking episode - simply dreadful
lizloz-396293 February 2020
This has to be one of the worst, most patronising, insulting and out-dated portrayals of what constitutes being English I have ever been unfortunate enough to watch. Terrible accents and colloquialisms - might be a shock to many Americans but very few Londoners speak with a Cockney accent, let alone the rest of the country, and hardly anyone uses rhyming slang outside of 1950's movies. Likewise, Yorkshire is actually quite a big country with more than one hospital, and the people certainly don't speak with Mockney accents. Vinni Jones should be ashamed of himself for taking the money to appear in this pile of deeply offensive rubbish.

You might just call this racist
markyskyr6 February 2020
NCIS tries to do a cross over with Snatch or Lock Stock. What we get is an embarrassing episode for all concerned. Imagine if they did an episode where at every chance they started doing dodgy Indian accents - that would be seen as highly offensive and racist. And that's what this episode is - offensive. To the large English speaking audience that this show has. What's worse is the English actors actually join in. Rubbish story, terrible acting. Vinnie Jones et al hang your heads in shame.

Episode 1106

Warning: Spoilers
I am all for British humor and the like, but this was a mediocre episode. A bad story, only one real action sequence and it was over before you could blink.

This is an episode proving NCIS: LA is showing its age.

Spent whole episode cringing
dascubaguy2 February 2020
As a Brit other than vinnie Jones accent being real this episode hurt mine and my wife's ears with the fake accents. Even the bit filmed 'in London' was so obviously not. Love NCIS but Hated this episode. Hopefully next episode back to normal!

Insulting!
tjcludas-0465014 October 2021
I've got use to the America's thinking everyone from Britain falls into two categories. Either upper class and talking with a "oxbridge" tone to there voice, or a Cockney from a London Gang movie. But this episode was just insult upon insult to anyone from Britain.

However, as for the episode itself, following the previous diabolical episode, make you question where the whole series is going.

Missing characters, poorly written script and shocking acting makes me think even the actors know the writing is on the wall.

Dire, dire, boring, drivel from a normally great production.

Hollywood doesn't learn?
akicork2 October 2020
I think this is probably the most painful piece of television I have watched since the Bones "Yanks in the U.K." episodes of 2008. It is beyond me how Vinnie Jones and a skilled actor such as west-of-Scotland (Glasgow-ish, and there are dozens of accents in there!) Steve Valentine could subordinate their acceptance of cash to their knowledge that what they were doing was a load of crap, and if they did tell the producers, how could the producers not have learned from the public reaction resulting from the Bones debacle of a decade before? Or maybe just Hollywood doesn't learn at all? If your production company wants to sell internationally, consider your international viewers!

Fun romp, awful plotline
lee-780-701237 August 2023
When the official review gets facts wrong about cockney rhyming slang, there's not much hope for the rest.

It's just as well that Nell and Eric weren't in this episode as their weekly attempts at British accents are painful enough without merging in with the rest of the team garbling their way through this.

In the episode, it's said "we need some jam jars, fine English cars".

Jam Jar = car, regardless of quality. He clarified the type of cars required to turn up at the poker game.

Inaccuracies, little to no plotline, nothing that could be taken seriously until the final firefight. Vinnie was Vinnie, he's a footballer, not an actor.

Not an episode to seek out specifically, definitely wouldn't have been missed if left out of the season.

Seriously?
greydug28 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
If I was that North Korean chick, I'd have told the Brit to piss off... no way I'm risking my life for you or your kid like that... but hollyweird can't write normal people. They only write stupid unrealistic morons who are ok with being sheep and door mats.

Hypocrite Hannah and and balless Callen shouldn't have allowed it either, after the Brit screwed them on the fist raid... but again, hollyweird writers can't write actual leaking... Callen is supposed to be the lead agent but he lets Super Sam walk all over him and dictate how things go all the time... a Seal would understand and respect the chain of command a lot better.
