If you want to see John Wick and Bodyguard in one film, then Joshua is your film.
Joshua: directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, who has delivered hits like Kaakha Kaakha, Yennai Arindhaal, Vettaiyaadu Vilayaadu, has directed this action flick. The storyline is packed with slick and realism action scenes and plot is a mix of films like Bodyguard and John Wick. The action scenes were choreographed well.
Varun has done a good job in acting and action scenes, but his characterization should have been better. Raahei is also good in her role. DD's role would have been like Angelina Jolie's role in Wanted, but couldn't. However, her performance is decent. The other actors have done well in their roles.
Yannick Ben, the unsung hero of the film, has delivered well-choreographed slick action scenes. Some scenes were reminded of John Wick. Cinematography and editing were top notch. Music was decent and the bgm was superb. GVM has done a good job, but the romance track between the lead pair should have been written better as the romantic track in Kaakha Kaakha was one of the best in GVM's films. Dialogues were somewhat ok and cringy. If romance track and dialogues were written well, then this would have been sure-shot success at the box office.
Overall, Joshua is worth a watch for the action scenes. Don't expect any story from GVM as the plot is wafer-thin and has only action. Watch it on Amazon Prime Video for an action packed summer.
