This piece of spy drama is simply fantastic. It is intriguing from the start, and the linear narrative used is a remarkable way of leeping the audience entertained. I have been watching spooks since the start, and this series and even these first couple of episodes are some of the best yet. Rupert Penry-Jones is fantastic and is performance is uncanny to a top 007 in their hay day. May generic coneventions are used to play with the audience and remind them of the genre, such as the classic breifcase swapping. The subject of terrorists is used, and as we all know from real life events, this could be a tricky subject to cover, but they do it superbly and in a 'TV' style way, top programmee ++
