The uniform that Natalie has in the hanger bag has captain's rank, 4 stripes, on the sleeves. The uniform Monk is then seen wearing has 2 1/2 stripes, a Lt. Commander's rank. The store clerk, however, still addresses Monk as "Captain Teeger."
Natalie's hand drill has a twist drill bit, which then switches to a spade bit when she makes the smoothie. The twist drill bit reappears on the drill as she exits the room.
When Natalie is done "blending" her smoothie, it's a darker shade due to the coffee grounds. When she goes to pour her smoothie into her cup, it's a much lighter color, similar to that of milk.
When Natalie and Adrian both claim that the numbers add up to 358, they are correct, since they are referring to the numbers assigned to the letters in the message, "To force heaven Mars shall have a new angel." When the 26 numbers representing each letter of the alphabet are added together, they sum to 351.
The Lt. Governor of California cannot authorize wiretaps. Only a judge can do so.
Sheriff Rollins states that they got a court order to tap Dr. Kroger's phone in case Monk calls him. There is no way the court could force Dr. Kroger's phone to be wire tapped, allowing the police to listen in on conversations between him and other patients, especially if Dr. Kroger is not the subject of a criminal investigation.
Mr. Monk claims he never fired the gun, yet he did not request that his hands be tested for gunpowder residue, something that could have shown his innocence or at least provided reasonable doubt (especially considering that the sheriff found him moments after the shooting, still holding the gun, with no time or opportunity for him to have washed his hands). As a 14-year police veteran, he undoubtedly would have known this. Further, previously when he *did* fire a gun (claiming self-defense), the Captain won't let him so much as wipe his hands, insisting that they must test for gunpowder residue, even though Monk did not deny firing the gun.
On the phone with the Captain, Monk says his gun is a "Lane and Wesson", just like the Sheriff's; their pistols are actually Beretta 92FS, an LE standard into the early 2000s.
