Violence & Gore

  • We see video footage of the aftermath of the Columbine High School massacre where we see the floor littered with pools of blood.
  • We see countless clips from various video games deemed overly-violent, ranging in explicitness. We see some blood splatters and gore, gunfire, and fistfights, though most are not particularly disturbing or realistic.
  • We briefly see footage of a few Japanese anime cartoons, with one clip showing a woman's hand being cut in half with a knife and her blood squirting on to the face of the attacker.
  • We see footage from a 1959 TV commercial where a small child fires test shots on an assault rifle as his parents watch happily.

  • We see footage of the Dawson college massacre in Montreal as a young man describes being shot in the arm six times and shows scars and bullet wounds. He also says his girlfriend was shot and we see footage of a young woman being carried out on a stretcher as bystanders scream and cry in sadness.
  • We see footage of a video game simulation of the assassination of John F. Kennedy. When he is shot we see blood splatter and a flap of skin come off his skull.
  • We see footage of a game called "9/11 Survivor" in which two men are trapped in the burning World Trade Center towers. Both men jump out of the towers and we see their bloody body parts splatter on to the pavement. We also see footage of the film "World Trade Center" where we see a human body dropping from the burning towers.

Profanity

  • 8 uses of "fuck" and its derivatives, a few uses of "shit", "ass", "hell", and "damn" as well as other obscenities.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • We see footage from television ads that show people smoking cigarettes.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Some of the violent movie and game footage may disturb some, as well as the archive footage of actual tragedies.
  • The film's overlying message that the media has a skewed view of video games, as well as its stance on censorship in America and the so-called "corruption of youth" may shock or anger some viewers who strongly disagree.
