Earlier in production contestants were supposed to win a "Casket full of goodies" including Frisbees with the Den of Doom logo stamped on them instead of a trophy. This may have been cut for budgetary or thematic reasons.
Each episode makes heavy reuse of scenes where just the Hyenas are present:
-The cold-open has three different takes that each episode uses one of
-The premise introduction is the same take for every episode but the announcer has a unique line for each episode.
-The scene after the cooking pot montage has three different takes
-The rules explanation has two different takes, one of them never cuts away from the Hyenas but the other has cut-aways where Sniff yells "DOOM" at two of the episode's contestants.
-The scene between round one and two is always the same.
-The opening to the "What's in your pants?" segment is always the same but the theme changes and the voice over is changed to describe the animal in Sniff's pants.
-The post-break recap scene is always the same.
-The intro to the "Double Drop" round has two different takes.
-When both losers of Double Drop have been decided Scratch and Sniff's voice over of "Well guys looks like you two turned out to be the dumber ones, didn't you?" "I'll say" is reused in almost every episode.
-During the finalist interview the camera cuts to Scratch saying "You're just one question away from becoming a winner" and Sniff says "Well let's see, as we play the final of Den of Doom" these are both reused for almost every interview.
-During the credits the punchline to the "no children are eaten" joke has two alternate versions.
When a contestant loses in the first two rounds they're offered the chance to save themselves by answering a riddle. It's unclear what happens if they answer correctly because none of the show's contestants managed to so.
This show is a spin-off of CITV's Ministry of Mayhem and Saturday Showdown, where the Hyena characters originated from.
