While shooting the scene where Tosh first mentions the surge in Rift activity, John Barrowman's cellular phone went off with the Doctor Who theme playing loudly, much to the amusement of the cast and crew.
According to James Marsters at DragonCon 2008, he broke a tooth when he lost his balance and fell face-first whilst getting into the Torchwood SUV handcuffed.
The title of the episode is an allusion to the Japanese name for James Bond, Mr. Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang.
At the end of the rooftop introduction of Captain John Hart (James Marsters), he says, "Thirsty now." This is a nod to another character from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, in which Willow's doppelganger would often say, "Bored now."
James Marsters was a big fan of the series and sent a letter to showrunner Russell T. Davies expressing interest in playing a part. Davies was only too happy to oblige.
