Amanda: [calling out from her sickbed] Are you masturbating in the bathroom, again?
Ken: [in the bathroom, grousing, while brushing his teeth] No, I'm not masturbating in the bathroom, again. I'm brushing my teeth! But that's a good idea. Maybe, I will masturbate in the bathroom - after I've brushed my teeth.
Featured review
Funny and romantic--if you think illness, nasty people and vile behavior are funny.
So, let me get this straight. A lady has a temperature of 102 degrees and her husband is so insensitive and gross that he tries to convince her to have sex?! What's particularly funny about that? With this plot idea, you really wonder what's coming next---humor about abortions or leprosy?! What is also rather sick (certainly not funny) is when the guy is reading to his wife. The book is about death and old age--at which time he begins gyrating against her! Then, to really make us laugh, they throw in a variety of crudities at each other as they treat each other like dirt. What fun. Cursing, illness, "cute" words like "dick" and "masturbate" and many other charming epithets. Wow, do the folks who made this film know humor and romance...NOT!!! This is not a pleasant film nor is it worth seeing. If you DO see it and like it, then I find that a bit scary.
