Snowfall has evolved from a fun in the sun type show into much deeper, more complex and some very tragic storytelling. This was undoubtedly one of the best entry in the series so far and a pretty intense watch.

It was some pretty grim viewing this time around. First we find out that Teddy's shipment of supplies never showed up in Nicaragua, and everyone in the camp has been slaughtered but one and Teddy briefly is in danger, but then decides to be helpful and return to report what's happened. Meanwhile there is a lot of tension in the family as Jerome and Louie argue over going to Fatback's funeral. Poor Fatback. The news is also bad with Cissy Saint as her real estate deal goes south as fallout from Irene Abe's first article & interview with Alton goes public.
Quite a lot of tension at Irene's newspaper as her article has also attracted the attention of Pentagon officials and an agency liaison. Sadly Irene loses the support of the paper after heat from the government, but decides to soldier on "off the grid" to get the story told. It is shocking to see the CIA spooks find her and drug her while warning her to back off or else.
Fatback's funeral sees Louie show up late after arguing with Jerome. As they are being greeted, Kadijah and two of her pals decide to do a drive by on the funeral trying to target Leon. Sadly and again pretty grim their shots miss their mark but end up hitting poor Louie who almost bleeds out on the sidewalk. Later, we see the hospital again while everyone is gathered to wait on word of Louie's condition including Tanosse. In this episode it is further disappointing when it is revealed that she has been spying on Franklin on behalf of Manboy in order for favors. Franklin has to leave to go meet up with Reed who is angry about the Irene Abe article. They resolve things and update each other ending with Reed advising Franklin not to trust anybody.
This episode feels like a great set up for some awesome TV with the next entry. In the final act we see Louie thankfully in recovery after successful surgery, although looking rough. Jerome wants to get his homies and attack Manboy's barber shop who is wise to this plan as he learns from Tanosse. Franklin sporting a good looking beard this time finally puts two and two together and confronts Tanosse about her actions with Peaches, a favorite character. What will happen to the traitor Tanosse? Will Jerome and his men be a match for Manboy? What will poor Irene do from here? She must be scared half to death. This is some top level drama in an age where good TV is way too hard to find. I hope Snowfall gets ten more seasons.
