A terrific trip down memory lane for the Torchwood team
DVD_Connoisseur30 March 2008
In this penultimate episode from the second season, the Torchwood team are lured into a potentially fatal trap when a building they are exploring is wired to explode. Covered in debris and fighting to survive, the various team members remember how they were first introduced to Torchwood.

This is a great episode and its fragmented nature works well. The episode builds to a terrific climax, leaving the viewer ravenous for the final episode.

9 out of 10. This has been a cracking series and I dearly hope that many more seasons will follow.

Lost but found
sinceverona22 September 2009
Jack, Ianto, Tosh and Owen arrive at abandon factory. They split up in two trying to catch aliens but instead each one of them finds a bomb. When they all simultaneously go off, it is up to Gwen to save them. The only problem is that Gwen overslept and received massage later. When she found Jack trapped in ruins first, he was angry because she came with Rhys. While Toshikos arm was possibly broken, and Ianto shoulder has been dislocated, Owen was the only one in real danger, stuck in a concrete rubble looking at the glass window that is falling from a celling closer and closer to him. The story focuses on how each member of the team was recruited to Torchwood. The most cruel story was Toshikoes it resembled a lot like Orwels 84. Jacks story showed how he from a mercenary waiting to find Doctor again stayed near the rift hoping it will take him, but then he met the two very persuasive members of Torchwood. It was probably the most interesting piece of episode watching how as time goes by Jack becomes the key figure in Torchwood and eventually recruits others. Ianto starts as a disappointed member of a destroyed Londons Torchwood. But I liked the fact that he seemed to be a trained operative, rather then getting to that position by having a fling with Jack. Owens story was the most bizarre one. I don't know what was more strange the fact that he had a fiancé or that she was suffering from Aleichem's disease. Owen genuinely looked in love with the girl. So there was someone he loved before Diane came briefly into his life. The most interesting scene was the one with pterodactyl trapped in a hangar, while Jack and Ianto tried to catch him. It did looked a lot like the one from BBC series "Walking with dinosaurs". In their stories, including the one about Jack they all looked miserable, with shattered lives and joining Torchwood saved them all or it seemed like the only solution. Why ?

Torchwood - This Is Your Life

Well, we always wanted to know how and when the other members of Torchwood joined/were recruited, and this episode tells us. Including how JACK came to Torchwood, and how he came to be in charge.

Each person's tale is spun separately and done well. Of course, Gwen's story we already know, but she and Rhys do appear.

My personal favorite was Owen. Each tale explains a lot about the motivations of each character and what makes them tick, but it REALLY lets you into Owen's mind and heart.

The end, btw, with its preview of the finale, leaves you with your mouth hanging open (after you've said a few expletives probably).

I will be counting the seconds until the finale, and BBC better announce a third series soon before they get picketed. Torchwood has MORE than earned it.
