Cute Idea, Gone Wrong!
Writer-Director Milap Zaveri's 'Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai' doesn't make use of its cute premise. It's genuinely an interesting idea, shunned down my poor direction & inconsistent writing.
'Jaane Kahan Se Aayi' Synopsis: Rejected by the woman he loves, a man must find true love with an alien from Venus.
'Jaane Kahan Se Aayi' has a few breezy moments, but that's all there is. Zaveri's Writing fails to deliver. The idea of the man loving an alien, never sets things in. I wasn't engrossed by the goings-on & felt there was sooo much potential that could've been tapped. Zaveri's Direction is poor. Cinematography is standard. Editing is fine. Music by Sajid-Wajid is lovely.
Performance-Wise: Ritesh Deshmukh is very natural, very easy on the eyes. He adds freshness to the stilted narrative. Jacqueline Fernandez looks great, but impresses lesser acting wise. Vishal Malhotra hams. Ruslan Mumtuz is wooden. Satish Shah is wasted. Ditto for Farah Khan.
On the whole, 'Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai' is a lost opportunity!
