I was the Catering Director for Anita Bryant and other Stars and staff totaling 100 for the 2 days she filmed in Zanesville Ohio aboard The Lorena, sternwheeler she used during the filming. The 2nd day myself and my staff were caught aboard the very large party boat as it started up river. So they made "extras" of us. I had little idea what all she was doing and if or when it would even make TV. Imagine my surprise getting a call 6 months later from a friend in Texas telling me to turn on my TV as I was on it. There we sat while Anita went up and down the aisles singing and smiling. She put her hand on my shoulder as she passed making my day and whispering "Thank you for the excellent food." That part of course was left on the cutting room floor haha. I am surprised no one else has offered anything on this special. Only real movie star I have ever met here in Ohio and I still remember that moment when the call came into my store to cater this filming. I was sure someone was pulling a joke but thankfully they weren't. I felt this was a GREAT special showing parts of America we never get to see in real life. Thank you Anita Bryant for 2 GREAT days being around a super star! Who knows, maybe I will get to see her again someday. I wish I knew where to get a copy of this special to show my family...
