A telephone number is provided in-game. By calling this number, players could listen to prerecorded messages from Miho Nakayama providing hints how to progress in the game. The number has since been disconnected.
The game makes use of the "Disk Fax" system, allowing players to submit their completion time and details via fax to Nintendo. This was used for a contest where the winners received either the Idol Hotline: Nakayama Miho no Tokimeki High School- Tokusei Videotape (1988) or a telephone card.
